This has nothing to do with the catch or the theatrics after it but I don't think there is a person in this world I would want to see get a paintball to the groin more than Harrison Bader.

Play the best players. Aside from injury until u clinch just play the best 9 Stop mixing in scrubs like Bauers Jansen Perkins every night. We can play them once you do.

We're not very good right now, guys.  That 14 game win streak feels like it was years ago.

If the math is correct, they are 8-11 since the game that ended the winning streak on August 17. It’s not disastrously bad, but it’s not a good trend.

We are just giving away games just because.    It’s tiring

So is playing every day.

I'd rather they get some rest now than have nothing left in the tank when the playoffs start.

I’ve heard this before.    Take woody out after 65 pitches.   We need him firing for September.  It’s September and he sucks now.   Same with Miz.   I get it.   Some people get hurt and get a day off.   But it’s like we have 6 games in a week and play our strongest team one out of the 6

Very disappointing loss. With the problems with the pitching staff it really hurts to,lose one that could have been won with just a couple, of runs. But the lineup the Brewers put out there today is going to have trouble scoring against decent pitching.

So, , the Brewers finish a difficult stretch of their schedule losing 11 of their last 19 after the 14 game winning streak. They lost 4 games in the standings to the Phillies and 3 1/2 games to the Cubs.

When we looked at the schedule a few weeks ago it looked like the games would get a little easier after the Phillies series. But now, the Pirates and Rangers are two of the hotter teams in MLB. The Pirates have won 11 of their last 16 and the Rangers (still fighting for a playoff spot) have won 11 of 17.

The Brewers have had some success at PNC Park, but it has also been the scene of some epic Brewer disasters. This road trip is going to be interesting and telling.

This take is fine except the Brewers decided at the deadline to do nothing. Your bench is Bauers Siegler Perkins and Jansen. You cannot afford to give days off if you have nobody on the bench. Also the Hoskins situation has to be investigated. You're telling me this guy needs 3 weeks of ab in the minors? The guy is making 20 million bucks. Where is he??

They will have nearly a week to rest if they can win the division and get a top 2 seed. Gotta get that done first.

I think you could legitimately argue that they’d be in better shape if they had done nothing at the deadline.

Jansen has been a disaster, Miller was a high risk move that did not pay off, and Lockridge is a warm body, nothing more.

I don’t think anything they did is going to pay any dividends at all in September or October.

Maybe Mears?

he has looked pretty bad lately and that’s often a symptom of wearing down from overuse.

They did next to nothing and should have done much more. There were needs there ti be improved. If you wanted a lefty bat go get one. Meanwhile every day we are forced to watch Bauers and Siegler pile up ab. They got complacent and they are paying for it. Tons of bullpen pieces went and we get the guy who was already hurt? That's on Arnold

Payamps over Yoho today was interesting that reveals more of Murphy.

Small numbers of innings pitched, but:

Payamps 2025 FIP (prior to this game): 4.50

Yoho 2025 FIP: 7.44

It reveals he may use analytics.

Obviously, we're a banged-up bunch. I think Murphy has absolutely overused Ashby, He has also leaned hard on Uribe and Koenig and Mears, even in games in which we trail. I'm not a big fan of that, but I get it in some ways. You throw out Easton Mcgee in a one-run game in the 8th, and people are going to get grumpy. It's a tough spot for a manager, up comfortably in the division/bye race, but nowhere near clinching it.

Still, it's not like the Phillies dominated us. Suarez was great today, and we blew the sixth inning. Otherwise, we basically played them dead even over three games and clinched the tiebreaker. I'm not really sure how that's a disaster. It seems like mostly a fine outcome, albeit something less than we were hoping for.

At this point, I'm ready for October baseball. I don't really care if we get caught if we play decent and get healthy. We were mostly fine this series. Let's be a little better in these next 15, and the rest is kind of random fluctuations of the ball.

I'm with you all the way up to the part about getting caught. I definitely want my team to have to win three fewer games to get to the goal, and have a chance to give some tired bodies a little rest.

I feel like the Brewers fought hard and very easily could have won this game today despite starting a Sunday lineup against a full strength second best team in MLB starting their second best SP.

We can't complain about the large zone today since it was there for both sides. But Suarez did a much better job of maximizing it. Not that Peralta wasn't excellent, but the handful of uncompetitive pitches is always going to make the difference in him getting those extra 3-4 outs that the BP now has to pick up. As for Suarez, he should shut down anyone when the zone is this large. He played it really well.

No complaints about the process of the two ABs w/the runners on 2nd & 3rd w/less than two out, even if the results weren't there. Durbin settled into looking to go to RF--which you had to do VS Suarez--got the pitch, and hit it right at the 2B. Even Jansen took a good approach trying to lift, just got too much underneath it. Even so, if it's me I send Contreras. With his setup & arm, Bader probably throws him out. But to me that's a better risk then hoping for the 2-out hit. It's too bad because both those ABs were better than some of the ones we put up vs their pen.

You could make a real solid argument that the pitches Myers threw in the Turner AB where he drove in the run were some of the best he made his entire outing. Problem was, it was Turner.

Zastryzny looked terrific.

The lineup today was what I anticipated except I thought Turang would play. All you have to do is see what Suarez does vs LHH & factor in the strike zone today, to know that there weren't going to be any easy answers.
