Yesterday was the 100th game pitched by the five current members of the rotation.

Peralta (18 W - 11 L), Priester (19 W - 7 L), Quintana (15 W - 7 L), Misio (8 W - 4 L), and Woodruff (9 W - 2 L) have combined for a pretty nice 69 W - 31 L team record in those 100 games.

Does anyone have the updated stat on the Brewers record in games started by Peralta, Priester, and Woodruff since Woody came back? I can go count at some point... Just wondering if someone had it handy.

Mets travel to Philadelphia. 24 year old Nolan McLean starts for NYM. He has been very good in four career starts.

Cubs travel to Atlanta. Bryce Elder beat Chicago last week, going 7 IP allowing 0 ER.

Reds travel to San Diego. Yu Darvish still slinging it at age 39, just not very well.

Dodgers host Rockies.

Would love for Cubs to be #2 wild card.

Isn’t Texas number one in runs against?   Runs could be hard to come by.   Quintana is going to be have to be crafty tonight

Full season TEX is #1 with a 3.48 ERA and MIL is #2 with a 3.59 ERA.

Starting April 1st after the Brewers spotted the rest of MLB four games just for the fun of it, MIL is #1 with a 3.36 ERA and TEX is #2 with a 3.46 ERA.

Move that arbitrary start point up to July 6th (Woodruff's 1st start) and the Brewers are 1st with a 3.29 ERA while TEX drops to 5th with a 3.83 ERA.

On the other side of the ball, Brewers are #2 at 5.11 runs scored per game on the year, while Rangers are 21st at 4.26 R/G.

They have allowed the fewest runs (532). The Brewers have allowed 560, which is 4th. Their bullpen seems to be average (I'm not the best at figuring these things out). They are starting a pitcher in his sixth start. His last game he was given a 9-1 lead in the 4th, but for some reason was pulled after 66 pitches and 4.1 innings. He perhaps is on a pitch limit, as he went 71 pitches in his next start. So, get to him early, or make them pitch a lot of bullpen innings.

Bottom line, I think the Brewers have a good chance to score a bunch of runs tonight.

Damn it @sveumrules! Posting at the same time as you on the same topic makes my post look like the equivalent of a kids' crayon drawing to your PhD defense. I almost, ALMOST, asked you to weigh in on this.

Remember when the old joke was that teams would call up any random lefty just to face the Brewers and pick up an easy win?

Brewers are an MLB best 28 W - 15 L versus LHP this year. They are also an MLB best 43 W - 29 L on the road.

What's that you say, the Rangers are over .500? The Brewers 51 W - 38 L mark against teams over .500 is tied for the best in MLB.

They are only sixth with a 25 W - 17 L inter-league record though, so no guarantees.

Rangers are 1.5 behind in the wildcard so they're still playing for something. Take at least one, ideally 2

Can't believe a 74 and 70 team is even in the wild card hunt. That is not a very good record and Brewers usually play them pretty well. But as Sveum said no guarantees.

Didn't know until today after seeing some mlb network discussion that this good streak by TX to get close is being done with Seager and Semien on the DL. Evaldi is down too.  On paper this is not a very good looking team right now.  But they're playing well at the moment.

Yeah, looks like 11 W - 4 L since August 22nd is tied with SF for best record over that stretch.

Wyatt Langford (67 PA of 172 wRC+), Josh Jung (60 PA of 153 wRC+), Joc Pederson (42 PA of 144 wRC+) and Adolis Garcia (40 PA of 186 wRC+) have been doing most of the big damage for them during that stretch.

Are you kidding me? He's a Ranger? He's in the Winker-Edman-Bader category of guys who I not only don't like to see up at bat, but guys I just don't like, period.

oh Adolis Garcia is out now too.          Didn't know Joc had been ok in the last few weeks, I saw the next post not knowing here was there.  FYI, he signed there this year for like 2/40 and has been atrocious, like dfa level bad. Althogh apparently has done ok the last few weeks according to sveum.  There was some talk on mlb a few weeks ago about how loyal the manager has been because he keeps trotting him out there in the 3 hole every day with a .170 type avg and 600ish ops

Those runs against stats are padded due to not yet facing the Brewers

Latz has been a bullpen guy for Texas all season .... only has started a few games now lately with injuries. 60-70 pitches is probably what he gets ... so if we have a bit of patience we should be in to the bullpen in the 5th or 6th.

Woodruff’s first start was July 6, not June 6.

Not sure if that was just a typo of if you included one month too many in your numbers.
