Welp, after six innings of last night's abysmal performance when it was clear we weren't going to win I turned off the game, watched a movie and went to bed. Just gotta put that one behind us and get series win today.

Did you not see they came back and won in extras or was this some sort of joke?

Same feelings here. So disappointed the lead over the Phillies is down to one game, and that the magic number is stuck at 9 on a day the Cubs lost. They need to upgrade the end of the bench, maybe replace Monasterio. He hasn't done a thing lately.

I'm assuming this was meant to be in BLUE?   Monsterio was red hot in August, but since then, Murphy has only started him once, and according to https://www.mlb.com/player/andruw-monasterio-655316?stats=gamelogs-r-hitting-mlb&year=2025 he only has five plate appearances in September, including yesterday's walk off.

So if you're complaining about Monasterio not getting enough opportunities, I agree.  Place blame on our manager where it belongs.  Andruw should be getting atleast 2-3 starts a week right now

I’m still waiting for the Danny Jansen game.     I think Hoskins will dh today also.

Probably the usual "surrender lineup" today.

I know many have posted that they don't see a big difference between the 1 seed and 2 seed.  I respectfully disagree.

The #2 seed will most likely face the Dodgers in their first playoff series.  The Mets/Cubs don't have the same firepower as LA.  All three have been struggling as of late, but I'd rather force Philly to play LA.  We might get lucky and earn an NLCS matchup with LA instead of Philly.

With how hot the Phillies are right now, I want nothing to do with them in October.

But first things first, we have to get right.  It starts by bringing everything we got today.  We had the day off Thursday, another day off tomorrow, another day off next Thursday, and then, if we clinch #1 or #2, a bunch of time off the week later.   No reason not to bring our A game and best lineups to close this thing out.

Adjust your sarcasm meter with me. Was building on Harry's sarcastic post that I quoted. I am a big Monasterio fan. And re: my other points, the lead over the Phillies isn't one game, the magic number isn't stuck at 9.

We will sweep St. Louis away with Jose!

Miles will be good for lots of Brewers smiles!

Brewers are 17 W - 7 L on Sundays this year for a .708 W%.

The other six days of the week they have gone 74 W - 51 L for a .592 W%.

The "Sunday Lineup" has been pretty good.

I remember way back in may or June when we still weren’t even in the wild card spot but playing better I said that at no point during the season would we ever be ahead of the cubs.    Hahaha

Then we proceed to win 8,11 and 14 game streaks

Jansen is about the only dude immune to my reverse jinx.   It’s like his superpower.   But like evil

The Brewers lost their first nine Saturday games this year with an overall record of 30 W - 28 L entering their 10th Saturday game.

I said something along the lines of them being a 99 win team the other six days of the week though.

At that point I probably would have been pretty happy if someone told me we’d finish all 162 with the 91 wins we already have today.

Yes, it was sarcasm. I was more than anything making fun of myself though because that is exactly what I did, woke up around 1:30, asked Alexa what the score was, got out of bed in shock, checked the box score and read the rest of the game thread.

Probably a top five ugliest win in team history. It looked like the Cardinals lost it more so than the Brewers winning it. This is the scoring summary for the Brewers:

Sac fly, sac fly, sac fly, ground out, double and infield single that were preceded by back to back hit by pitches, infield single, double, single.

Whatever works though.

Last night was one of the better games I've seen in person in a long time. Probably because I was getting a beer when they made the 2 errors in the same inning. Let's hope for more of the same today...minus the errors.

Can you imagine if we break the team record in wins after that first weekend.   Insane.    Every team is memorable in their own way.   But this one is unlike any other we’ve had.     They deserve to go to the World Series.    But sports can be cruel and Wisconsin fans know this all too well

To be accurate, though, the “Sunday lineups” don’t show up every Sunday and sometimes appear randomly or on weekday afternoons.

At a glance it looks the Cards might be going with a Sunday lineup today to face The Nibbler.

Jansen and Monasterio both in the lineup today with Bauers at 1B and Contreras completely off.

Hard to complain about this one.  Let's win a game easily gents.  Would sure feel good to pick up a game today on Philly after how close they were last night to climbing within 1 game in the standings

Hopefully Monasterio won’t display his defensive weakness like he did in the last game we went to, the only loss we’ve seen this season.

Montesario in is awesome. Bauers in is annoying.

Since coming back off of the IL, Bauers has a .969 OPS and a 1.204 OPS over the last 6 games.

Ride the hot hand.
