We've been listening to Jeff Levering all season, we can handle Joe Buck now..

The Brewers DS games will be on TBS , so either Brian Anderson or Alex Faust will do play by play.  TBS for the NLCS , which is Brian Anderson.  And the world series would be Fox and Joe Davis.    Joe Buck no longer does baseball.

Not winning the World Series.  Having a dream about giving a speech in school naked.  But mostly just not winning the World Series.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

My concern is mainly that they've been playing .500 ball for a month, which is fine, I'm just anxious about them being able to kick it up a notch once the playoffs start. Sometimes I think it's something to be legitimately anxious about and other times I think that it's not. The playoffs are their own thing and if they go out and win game one of their first series that can ignite the team just as easily as anything else.

You only need a .578 winning percentage in the playoffs. 11-8 can get it done.

i mean, a game 5 and two game sevens would probably cause irreparable damage to my nervous system, but those are the numbers.

Honestly wondering how the layoff will effect us.  Obviously as a whole it seems we are limping to the finish line and the break will hopefully do us well.  However, since the bye has become a thing, the teams with a bye seemingly struggle, iirc.

If we are limping into the playoffs the bye will serve us well.  Also our top 7 hitters should be not in this particular order, Frelick, Turang, Contreras, Yelach, Durbin, Vaughn.

I would love to put Collins in there but he has been in such a slump. The Brewers were playing there best baseball when he was in the lineup every day but that was before his baby was born.

I would love to see him play the last 3 games of the season to see if he snapped out of it.

The offense is brutal right now. Can’t expect the pitching to throw shutouts every game.

This offense has morphed into a 2021ish offense in the past month. From the line up will beat you down and score runs by submission to one where yeah if get that big inning it’s ok, otherwise we wait for a pitcher to give up 0-1 runs.  Not how playoff wins happen.  Phillies with their struggles a little bit are still scoring runs. And the Cubs have found more ways to score the past 2 weeks. Ugh.

Our best line up was with

Frelick

Chourio

Yelach

Contreras

Turang

Durbin

Vaughn

As our top 7 in the order when we were scoring runs.

You have to go into playoff series expecting them to go to the winner take all final game. if your team can close it out early consider that a gift.

But a big reason that the Brewers record of 18-19 since their 14 game winning streak is unsettling is that the playoffs don’t include teams like the Pirates and Angels. The Brewers swept series against those teams but are 12-19  against teams that were playoff contenders when the Brewers played them.

I am concerned about a constantly changing lineup…why Yelich at 1 and Frelick at 5?   We finally have a legit leadoff hitter and grinder and we cannot be content? Let’s put him where he is more asked to knock runners in than getting on? And to do it with a measure of power?  Let’s push Yelich and ask him to lead off after dealing with ailing back? And doing it now in the waning moments of season?  Also, I don’t know how comfy Turang is at 3.

It is just very questionable why some of these changes are going on. . It shouldn’t matter where you hit, but it does. Hitting high in order takes on a different kind of pressure at different spots.. Let’s get back to what we have done most of the year.

Guess my biggest concern is that Ueck has been having too much fun these last six weeks pursuing other worldly pursuits beyond baseball and he forgets to come back for the playoffs.

It's a good point out on slumping due to a newborn.  When is the last time a Brewer with a newborn did good after? Or even remain around their average self?

No Woodruff and Megill, plus all Brewer batters performing like 100 OPS than the peak around the 14game win streak. Another failed bases loaded by Ortiz tonight.

Team magic gone. Have 0 faith we win a game in playoff series.

The bye will do us well for sure to re-energize and playing now at about 75% intensity it seems. We honestly haven't had our A-Team out there especially in the pitching department.  Seems like were handling things more like spring training games the past week. I think Megill will be ready for the playoffs. We have 6 days off after tomorrows game.

Brewers NLDS Home Schedule first 2 games:

My concern is the energy they've lost.  Since the end of their last streak Crew has been on cruise control playing just under 500 ball. Home field advantage is definitely needed. Hopefully they come in rested and healthy and get that energy they lost back again."

I'm sure we will, Look at the other playoff teams. Philly's 5-5 last 10 games, Mets 5-5,  Cubs 4-6. Tigers 2-8, Blue Jays 4-6.

For me, its hitting with RISP. I think our pitching will be fine, and we seem to be getting healthier there. If we can't get runners in on base, we are toast. This team will not out-slug the opponent.

The other concern is Murphy getting conservative and not stealing bases with reckless abandon like we did during the regular season.

My biggest fear has become that the Brewers of the past three weeks is what we'll get in the postseason. Hence, three and done. Then I have to realize that what would make that even worse would be to get swept by the insufferable losers to the south. I hate to root for Padres because they are more dangerous than the Cubs, but if the Brewers have destined themselves to going out with nary a whimper, I would prefer that it be to anyone but the team of Harry Caray and the Ricketts family.
