I will say this: unless the decision is truly and utterly inexplicable, like using Ortiz to PH in a critical situation with other bench options available, I’m just not going to play the armchair manager game after this one.

I’ve seen a fair few coaches come through, and they’ve all been different. None of them won a title (yet), and few have even won a postseason series. At some point, though, after all the regular season success these teams have had over the years, it has to come down to players making plays.

If they lose tonight (and I won’t rehash my feelings about that, this isn’t the time or place), I firmly believe Pat Murphy won’t be in the top 5 reasons why. Hitters have to hit, and pitchers have to keep the ball in the yard, simple as that.

i'm not convinced Misiorowski pitches in this game.

I could see it being all relievers pitching an inning or two each.

Despite his nice performance in game 2, I don't trust Miz as far as I can throw him. At least not in a win-or-go-home game.

Well friends, I'm signing off from here for the night. Going to try and keep my head as clear as possible. I am leaning on the side of optimistic that we will have another series to worry about before the day is over, but if things go south I probably won't turn the internet back on for a week or so...

Just wanted to say it has been an absolute pleasure this season and very likely the most memorable season I've ever experienced.

You’re not going to start Bauers over Vaughn especially with a lefty opener. He’ll get into the game in some capacity later.

Unfortunately because of Chourio’s hammy it sounds like him in CF is out of the question right now.

Pomeranz is pretty strictly a 1 inning guy. So with Vaughn at #5 you probably won’t even benefit from him facing Pomeranz, you’ll likely see a righty on the mound and have burned the first ABs of Turang and Yelich against a lefty specialist.

Yeah, I just don’t like this strategy at all.
