Last season, as a 21 year old, his OPS across AA-AAA was .828.

Ok, and in 700+ PAs since leaving A ball it’s under .800, so you’ve got some sample size issues there.

Like I said, being under 5’9” makes the physics of hitting for power that much harder.  Which why in the last 40 years the short guys that have are a class of 2.

Not sure how to feel about Jett Williams. Not sure how a guy who’s 5’9 would have sustainable pop. Unless he can regularly hit 20 HRs a year or have an awesome hit tool, our lineup is still a little lacking.

We are all in on the pipsqueak archetype huh. Jett is very talented and has a lot of tools that would be a great get. I'm unsure on Sproat... the stuff is not great. Throwing in Myers too IDK not sure I love it. Seems basically equal to the Burnes package on the surface.

It’s playing the percentages. Peralta is the best chip the Brewers have to improve their talent level. Jett Williams hit well in the low level of minor leagues. It’s not known how well he will hit in the upper levels. There are very few MLB players that short who hit for power consistently in the last 40 years.

I’d prefer the Brewers to hang on to Peralta unless someone is willing to fork over a blue chipper who is ready for the major leagues.

We do know, in the modern era there’s very very few players under 5’9” who hit for power consistently. One is in the Hall of Fame and the other probably winds up there someday too.

HE LITERALLY HAD A 156 wRC+ IN AA AS A 21 YEAR OLD. STOP SAYING HE HASN'T HIT IN THE UPPER LEVELS

I don't know why you keep dismissing literally his latest season in MILB, dude.

I absolutely agree with this. However, I think Jett is a better prospect than you give him credit for. IF the package includes Myers especially. I would rather have another year of contention and the draft pick.

Not a Sproat fan.  I don't see how he is any better than Myers, except for service time.

Not sure I like giving up two pitchers in the deal.

Hate giving up two starters when Woodruff is iffy at best. Crazy move imo

He’s got 700 career at bats above A-ball with a sub .800 OPS. Those are facts, you can look it up.

I don’t really care what the metrics say for 34 games last summer in AAA, and I would hope the Brewers front office doesn’t draw any conclusions based on it either because it is the definition of a small sample.

EDIT: I guess they did…

156 wRC+ in 421 PA in AA as a 21 year old

I’m so shocked that anyone is upset by this. It’s one year of Peralta plus a fringe guy in Tobias. I never would have dreamed that would fetch a top 30 MLB prospect plus a really good pitching prospect.

I mean Freddy on last year was always going to be iffy but this deal is a bit worse than I thought and we throwing in Myers makes it really rough. No way Sproat gives us what Myers could have. Brewers better know something we don't about Woody health. Now go spend a few bucks you saved.
