I don’t know…..the times he has gotten into a rhythm he hasn’t been THIS bad. He walks a little, and has some pop. When he’s struggling like this he’s unplayable.

It wasn’t a bad challenge.  On a 3-2 pitch you only have to be right about 15% of the time.  Other counts you are looking at having to be successful 70-90% of the time.

So 3-2 late in the game with 2-outs is a perfectly good challenge.

Has a decent OBP but that's about it

He's too injury prone to know for sure what he is at the mlb level if he puts in a fully healthy season - not even 1 week of games in March isnt a sample size this year to make bold proclamations.

I think Mitchell gets too passive in the box and that puts him in too many holes leading to k's.

I don’t know about that. Especially with how badly he has been struggling coupled with the fact he is coming in cold off the bench and pinch hitting, I don’t think he should have challenged.

No anything that is close and a 3-2 count and it is late in the game should be an auto challenge.  There is very little downside in doing so.
