Doubtful. If they aren't moving him for Perkins, they aren't going to move him for Chourio.

His bat is helping us win games.

Both aforementioned switch hitters are much better from the right side of the plate.

I would definitely rather have a righty batting Rengifo somewhere between those three, they also could have used Lockridge, or pinch hit with Sanchez at some point.

I’m pretty much stating that with men on base I would like to see Lockridge pinch hit against a lefty for Mitchell, or Sanchize for Bauers. If that isn’t going to happen, Rengifo should be swapped with Bauers in the batting order.

This never happened last year.

Moving Rengifo up against a RHP is just making the lineup worse and it’s really not going to change much of anything from an opposition perspective. If you flip Rengifo with Bauers the opponent isn’t going to care. Rengifo isn’t some lefty masher. He has a career 103 wRC+ against LHP.

Lockridge is not 100% according to Murphy and was potentially not available today. Sanchez was probably being saved for later in the game because they didn’t want to pigeon hole themselves into him being their 1B late in a close game.

This stuff didn’t happen last year because the roster wasn’t as LHH heavy as it currently is with 2 of your 3 best RHH injured.

Garrett Mitchell currently has a OPS of .975

yet when I read this thread I would think he was awful.

So Chourio plays left.  I think that's all he was saying, and I agree.

He doesn’t want anyone to pitch him inside…….too bad Bob Gibson didn’t get to face him…..

Sign Seth McClung for a day?  Can he still hit 95?

The ball was, what, 1" inside?

I couldn't find a better picture than this.

I have a feeling we will see Gary Sanchez at first base today.  If Wilson goes off, Sanchez will make sure things are kept under control... if you know what I mean.

Mitchell to left field with Jackson returns?

Mitchell is a better centerfielder than Chourio so definitely not.

Mitchell is such an interesting case right now. His savant page is hilarious. At the expense of contact he is swinging out of his shoes taking big daddy hacks. The whiff and K rate says that this is not sustainable though. His chase rate is in a good place. He is just swinging and missing a ton in the zone. Just an insanely intriguing profile. Like if Russell Branyan was fast as hell. That player holds value. I'll even admit I was out on Mitchell this year after an ugly ugly spring.  If he can cut that K rate to 25% or so he could be a legitimate 25/25 guy with this new bat path. Also has to stay healthy *knocks aggressively on wood.

Dude clearly spent too much time with the Cardinals.

I wonder if the brothers had a chat last night.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Have we seen an ABS challenge on a hit by pitch yet? It would be kind of hilarious to have one overturned because the pitch was actually a strike.

High but not too far off the plate

In a weird twist, CB Bucknor challenged his own call behind the plate.  Alas, it came back as a "strike".

Ok, now I need to know more about this, but can't find anything online.
