Keeps everyone else on schedule. Allows Sproat a bit more time for adjustments. The math seems simple...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Makes sense. It might give them a chance to see how he does in relief as well. I know small sample but if the short term choice is between sending him down or putting him in relief it might help to see him in relief.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Williams with a .147/.293/.147 line in AAA. Tough stat for the players they got for Peralta

9 games is enough.  Cut the bum!

Peralta has been below replacement level through three starts, fwiw.

And we have 6 years minimum to get value from Sproat and Jet……even if this year doesn’t work out.

It's waaayyy too early to try and dissect the values of the players traded, but for fans that felt that keeping Peralta is better in 2026 than trading him, The only way this trade will work out is if Peralta/Myers are terrible, or that the Brewers win a World Series with Sproat and/or Jett.

Because just like we'll never know if the Brewers would have won a world series with Hader, we won't know if Peralta would have been the missing piece in 2026.

Had both of these guys for years and never won one either.

Yep. I didn't feel that either trade meaningfully took away from the present value of the team enough to ignore the obvious future value-added. But for fans that typically want to "go for it," they will always have gnawing questions.

That team with Hader wasn't ever going to win anything, they were a sinking ship. Having that 2024 team with Burnes is a different story, will never know.

I can make peace with it relatively easily. I was conflicted about the team trading Freddy and even after the trade I had some doubts even though it was probably going to be for the better in the long run.

But whenever it comes to the World Series arguments and will they miss because of one guy, I just don't see it. That one guy can lose a World Series just as easily as he can win it. Look at Toronto last year with Isiah Kiner-Falefa getting thrown out at home. I don't even think it's his fault but he could have made a different choice even with the team wanting conservative leads. Players make choices to run through stop signs on the bases, he could have made a choice to be more aggressive.

Josh Hader literally blew a save in 2019 that eliminated the Brewers, yes he had help with Grisham's error but it was still a base hit. He sure didn't help then when he was needed in that moment.

All I'm saying is people want to assume they're missing the good when a player leaves and yes there's plenty of good to be had. But there's also bad. Bad things happening is written all over World Series history.

How many games has he played?

I'm very interested in this.

What’s the problem, no doubt it’s early, but Williams is under .200 without a XBH in 10 games and Sproat’s lack of command is loosening his grip on a roster spot. So spot on, factual statement: tough start for those two guys.

It's barely a stat.  I also wouldn't think he's the next Babe Ruth if he was like 5/12.

It's meaningless.

It’s 46 PAs for Williams not 12 (haha), but you’re right it’s early, but by the same token no organization wants the two pieces they got for their most marketable player to lay eggs out of the gate.

To your larger point about winning trades. Yes, Sproat + Williams > greater than a comp pick. Where I get off the bus is the assumption that because they’re on some prospect list and the Brewers traded for them that they’re bound to be good players. Time will tell.

LOL... literally earlier this week someone pointed out how it's been a good start for Harrison and Hamilton while couching as being WAY too early to make any declarations and... even then you told them to slow down!

Can't win!
