I don’t think there is a fix for 3B in the trade market.  The Brewers will have to improve at another position.  I suggested Wilson Contreras and then move Chourio to CF and the Mitchell in RF with Bauers taking over at LF.

Something like that is probably your best solution.  Vaughn probably has very limited trade value as a 1B only.  So you are looking at getting someone similar to Joey Ortiz at 3B as your return if you are trading Vaughn for a replacement at 3B.

Better to find value somewhere else.

What's your third base fixing plan?

I just am not sure why we trying to fix one issue by creating another.  If we trade Vaughn and then Bauers takes a pitch on the hand we now have 6 weeks with Gary Sanchez as our 1st baseman.

You know who is OPSing over .800 against LHP this year and isn't getting a lot of playing time? Monasterio. He will cost you a song and he can be the soft side of a split with Bunty if we really need to make a trade. That is a combined .750 OPS 3B. Someone like that. You don't need to spend a lot on a full time 3b - you need someone who can hit lefties adequately. Maybe that can still be Luis. Maybe it's Jett. But I think losing Vaughn at the hope of gaining an average MLB 3b is an unnecessary risk to a really promising season.

Buxton and Joe Ryan for Frelick, Pena, O'Rae, Gasser and Crow

Obviously this would be in over a month so I am guessing Henderson and Woody would be healthy. It wouldnt help SS or 3B but our rotation would be deep enough to take on the Dodgers. Buxton would really lengthen the lineup and provide some thump.

We would probably have to add Pena to get both. Frelick, Crow, and Gasser would give the Twins immediate depth and replacements. We would give up depth but I would think we could trade Ryan next offseason and recoup a bunch of value and get some pitching depth back.

To get the Twins two best players, admittedly for short term, I would expect to have to give up along the lines of Lara, Sproat or Drohan, and Burke or Hardin.
