Good lord.   At some point the baseball gods are going to say you can’t keep winning with some of the garbage we put out there.   Other teams get paid too

Welcome to life with no off days and only two reliable starting pitchers

And have a 5 1/2 game lead in the NL central.

Which specific garbage are you talking about from this inning? Other teams have garbage too - that's the thing.

After close pitches, I've noticed catchers looking into the dugouts. I have a guess that they are looking at whether the pitch was a ball or a strike (based on ABS data), to inform further challenge decisions.

I don't think it is out of the real of possibility of instant feedback on whether a pitch is a ball or a strike. And for that instant feedback to be used for cheating purposes. Meaning: a system in the dugout somehow duplicative or plugged into ABS, that is then relayed instantaneously via a tone in the ear of the catcher whether to challenge or not.

Yay or nay?

I could be totally wrong about this but I’d guess that no other contender has a player with a -10 OPS+ on their bench with over 65 ABs.

Let alone the number of players on our roster with a negative WAR this far into the season…

sproat, Frelick, Rengifo, Perkins are below replacement level.

What does Rengifo bring this team besides the easiest outs of your life and poor defense? Guy should take the his look-a-like's route (ET) and play in the KBO. Even then I doubt he'd have any success. Guy sucks

Well the good thing about this game is Murphy will rail into Crow after the game.

maybe it’s time to go after the position players a little now

Nothing. He looks like Eric Thames except instead of having the actual power of Eric Thames he has the power of Joey Ortiz.

Cameron Crowe would be a better option today.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Feels like a day for the grumps today.

Seems like last night broke some people.

I rarely advocate for a splash move, but this team could probably use Skubal more than any other contender.  Not only would be a huge needle mover for the playoffs but it would make a big difference for the season once he’s healthy.  Currently they have Miz and Harrison and then they just cobble together crap for the other three spots and hope to score. That’s the current rotation.

It's going to keep happening after every loss until they get rid of the like 6 players who bring nothing to the roster and rightly so.
