Fischer Extension?

I considered not making this as I hate speculative topics, and I hate them more when everything surrounds them is vague. But I also like to think if smoke, maybe fire? 

Original tweet from Stephen Nesbitt (Athletic MLB writer)

Fischer tweet later in the afternoon, and he also retweeted the above: 

So maybe it is something, maybe it is nothing. Maybe it is trolling. But at least enough to maybe connect some dots. So if so, what is the most you would pay for 8 years of Fischer now? I would think it would be in the same range as Pratt, but maybe a hair over?

Will be interesting to see where the money lands if that is indeed what is going on.

Would think something like Colt Emerson (8/$95M) or Jackson Chourio (8/$82M) is probably too high.

Maybe something in the range of Kristian Campbell (8/$60M) or Cooper Pratt (8/$50.75M)?

Have to imagine Made is thinking something around Konnor Griffin (9/$140M) or Kevin McGonigle (8/$150M) if he is interested in extending before debuting in MLB.

Which then leads into the next question of what is the context of the Nesbitt tweet then? He doesn't just casually tweet about Milwaukee ever, and the entire "all lower case" tweet doesn't match his tone in any of his other tweets. I know analyzing a bit too much here, just a weird thing to tweet around deadline time vaguely.

I'd guess just that the Brewers are once again one of the best teams in baseball. I don't think Nesbitt is some guy that breaks news. Also he tweets all lower case a bunch. I scrolled back like 10 tweets and there were multiple all lower case tweets.

I didn't see this thread before posting on the main forum, but I think it's fair to presume that one of our prospects is getting an extension.

Fischer’s K rate is a huge red flag for me.

A Fischer extension would be very interesting. You'd have to treat this season as a wasted year essentially(for contract purposes) since I doubt he gets called up this season. So we'd be looking at a 10 year deal probably? Which takes him through his age 32 season?

If Fischer is not in Biloxi's lineup tomorrow night, I think that will be a pretty good indication an extension is in the works.

I would be surprised if it was Fischer. The K rate gives him a very low floor. He could be Tyler Black.

Yeah, I'd wait until Fischer is out of the lineup for a few days (while signing the contract).  Until then, this is just trolling.

Yes I am not certain if its anything or not. Mondays are off days for all of the minor leaguers so if someone is scratched tomorrow, that would be the tell.

I think we can put the rumors to rest. If the Brewers were actually extending someone their social media team wouldn't be referencing that Nesbitt tweet.

Also Nesbitt followed up his tweet. Clearly seems to be talking about how much winning the Brewers are doing

Rumor appears dead as quickly as started but would be interesting if it happened and have some left handed power off the bench in the playoffs. Don't currently have that with the left side, Sanchez and sometimes Vaughn provide right handed power off the bench.
