If those two players are traded for Skubal, and just those two players, that would be pretty even with us giving #5 Adamczewski and #13 Ragsdale.

I'm not comfortable with that...

I'm sure there would be other players as well, but damn...

I imagine the Dodgers are way more comfortable with trading for Skubal because they know they can extend him and they have the budget to keep him for as long as they wish. We don't have that luxury.

Im glad we didnt get him lol farms to good brewers will be competitive next decade no need to risk that for a couple months of skubal

If it’s 5 & 13, and the brewers had to pony up 1&2&3&4… then yeah, whatever.

self fulfilling prophecy if so on how MLB is a joke

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Dodgers are “making progress” on a trade for Tarik Skubal.

Heyman notes that the talks are centered on Zyhir Hope and Emmet Sheehan. It’s worth noting that Hope was scratched from Saturday’s game for Double-A Tulsa, so that’s probably not coincidental. Heyman does caution that the trade isn’t done yet, but Skubal is almost assuredly going to be dealt over the weekend, and there aren’t many teams that can match what the Dodgers have in their farm system. At this point, it seems more likely than not that Skubal plays for the Dodgers in 2026.

Now that the Dodgers have Skubal, does it pay for us to mortgage our future with a different player(s)?

I say absolutely not.  Dodgers just got even better, no need to give away top prospects any longer.

Very very simplistic way to look at it but they got the Dodgers #5 and #7 prospects according to MLB.com.

That would be Adamczewski and Payne from us. I wouldn't do that personally.

I couldn't agree more. Just close up shop and move forward with the team you have and hope for the best. Maybe the Dodgers will run into a bunch of injuries right before the playoffs.

Yeah was just thinking the same. It should lower the value of the rest of the pitchers in the field because nobody can hope to compete.

OTOH I could see the brewers more focused on multi year pitchers or nothing

i hope they gut the dodgers in the deal and the new CBA somehow handicaps them and now they’ve got massive contracts and lose their prospect depth without the usual way to replenish

Tigers got tricked by the top 100 label, River Ryan is nearly 28 years old man.

Z. Hope as the center piece makes me think Tigers would’ve accepted Pena and 2 lesser ranked guys but Brewers weren’t willing to send Pena.

They definitely didnt get tricked lmao you think river ryan has to be 21 or something to make this worthwhile for detroit? Detroit made out like bandits hope and ryan is quite the haul for a guy who was gonna leave in a couple months
