Can a starting pitcher be more cromulent than Shane Drohan? A 3.33 FIP is beyond cromulent, I suppose.

Cal Quantrill’s ERA is shiny but his FIP is 4.02 and he seldom strikes anyone out.

Cromulent is subjective. I propose if you are too effective then you are no longer cromulent, you are something more. If you are not consistently good then you are no longer cromulent, either. 

I would suggest good Colin Rea as being very cromulent.

We are pretty spoiled of 3.33 is cromulent for a pitcher. However, he is perhaps cromulent as a starter and exceptional as a reliever, maybe not even cromulent level as a starter.

Gotta note that the Brewers also got a pick from the Orioles that turned into Blake Burke. Sure Burke may turn out to be one of those power hitters who flames out, but he has hit a combined 32 HRs and has a .923 OPS between AA and AAA, and just turned 23 years old.

I'm pretty much the same. It's not the end of the world if they don't get the #1 seed, but earning a bye is big, and getting homefield throughout the playoffs would be a nice boost to our post season chances. Braves are interesting since they seem to be a little streaky. For all the nervousness about the Dodgers it remains to see if all those old men will actually be able to get up to peak form for the playoffs this year.

It does appear that the Cubs game will be a wind-blowing-out special. Cubs with a 4-run advantage, but there's value in simply making that troubled pitching staff throw a lot of guys, so let's hope the Reds can at least keep applying pressure.
