I promise I am not given to conspiracy theories, but I have low key fantasized about what dodgersing the Brewers might employ this year.  (Of course, the Dodgers are no doubt dodgersing too.)

Welcome to the club!

I know it’s not the case but I would love it if we were actually just dodgersing with Woodruff. Haven’t seen any updates since the “throwing 105 feet “ one.

And that report was less than 3 weeks ago.  No way, No how will he be ready for the playoffs.

Gonna be honest here ... unless Woody can logically serve a useful and valuable purpose, he has no business being anywhere close to the active playoff roster. I love what the guy has given the team over the years, but we have what very well may be the most complete team in the Brewers' playoff history, and it is going to take an "all hands on deck" approach, especially considering the lack of experience and MLB innings in our current rotation, to get through the Phillies and Dodgers of the world.

That said, the Brewers brain trust, especially when it comes to pitching, has earned a lot of trust, and if they were to make the decision to activate Woody at any time during the upcoming playoff run, what a terrific story it would/could make.

When has he not been productive? Even in his innings when he started topping out at 88, he was able to get batters out. Obviously you don't throw him out there if he isn't throwing 95, but I wouldn't trust many more if he feels physically sound.

Two outs in the 9th inning, Game 7 of the World Series. Megill on the mound. Murphy comes out, reads a letter from Uecker about Woodruff, then the bullpen door opens.

Biggest thing working against Woodruff is the fact he has zero in game work to prove he is good to go and the fact I can’t imagine he is going to be a huge multi-inning option. The guys he could replace go multiple innings.

Can we afford to risk taking away a multi inning option for him?

Harrison, Drohan and Patrick haven't seen an inning of work yet in 6 games. So ... while it would be taking a slight risk ... probably.

The Brewers are not going to throw Woodruff in a World Series game because it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside. If he plays, it's because they've worked him out and believe he is the best option available for that situation. I think it's very unlikely he plays, but if he does, equally unlikely he gets torched. They won't bother if he doesn't prove he's effective.

The Woody thing feels like a smokescreen

For what? I don't think Tampa and Cleveland really care if Woodruff is able to give you 4 IP over a 7 game series.

No thanks.

Why? I am a complete sucker for this thing from an emotional standpoint. Then again, my head knows it's a low probability of usage in a high-leverage situation and that we're really not gonna get THAT Brandon Woodruff,,,

But, man, I really would love to see it...

It comes down to Harrison/May vs Woody, IMO.  Who would you rather have as your 4th starter to go 2-3 IP?  Honestly... Woody, IMO (assuming his velo is back up in the 90s of course).  Even without game experience in a long time, he has the right mentality to come in strong.

1-Where the hell are you going to trust him with NO rehab outings?
2-Dude... go get paid next year! I mean, I love the fact he's willing to go, but... I think he gets a 50M deal next year! Maybe it's "only" a Frankie Montas 2/35. Go sign that!

I don't think you mess with this staff, he's not going to give you length, he's at 31 pitches right now.

Brandon Woodruff is not factoring into my post-season calculus this year. If I'm wrong and he can, that's cool I guess. Just don't see it.

Harrison or May TBH. Vs the Guardians or Rays?

I thought Harrison had a dead arm and his last outing, that zip was back(may have even been better than early season). I like Harrison... just have a little trouble with the fact he hasn't pitched in a while, but now ask me about Woody vs Harrison?

I'd like to get a look at Harrison in the NLCS but I don't know that the opportunity will present itself. If it does, I'll probably be in a really good or really bad mood.

Agree with Old School on Woody usage. I applaud the guy for going all out on rehab. I don't anticipate him being the best guy for the situation, but you never know. The comments about him "not looking at the radar gun" tell me all I need to know though.
