I know it's business, a little irritating Koenig elects FA. Oh, you don't want to be in the World Series organization??

Senzatela option was beefy, $14 mill.

Glad the Brewers exercised the club option and didn't deal with arbitraton and try to nickel and dime Contreras. Also good to see they are willing to spend money on Bauers and go for a repeat even though he may not accept it. Fischer and Burke can wait a year, no need to rush them.

Anyone would do that…….he is going to see if somebody has interest in him on a major league deal.
He might still come back on a minor league deal if nobody has interest…….similar to what Jake did a few years ago.

They guy is about to be 33 and has never made more than the minimum…….maybe cut him a little slack.

Giving Bill the money is smart. It also MAYBE suggests they want to try and sign him long-term, given that, if they were set on trading him, they might try to keep the 2027 salary suppressed just for maximum flexibility.

That's all marginal and minor stuff, but what other tea leaves are left to read on November 2nd?

I thought there was a very slight possibility that mutual option for Sanchez made sense for both sides. I am assuming we get granted a 4th option on Quero. I know we gave up some value to get Naylor and he’s going to cost $1-2m in arb, but I liked the role for Sanchez on this team. Oh well, not going to fret too much about the back up catcher position. Glad they just picked up the Contreras option so we didn’t have that hanging out there.

I see they got a head start on Wilson, Koenig, and Baddoo who were non-tender candidates.

thank you for your services Senzatela and May.

next important date is 11/17: bauers QO decision, non-tender deadline, and adding guys to the 40 man. Still a few interesting tender/non-tender decision to make. I assume Jett Williams and Wagoner get added to the 40 man.

This puts the 40 man at 33 guys, including those on the 60 day IL. Have to assume Jett, Adams, and Wagoner are added before the deadline. I don’t see any non tender candidates, unless they decide Vaughn is too expensive. So essentially 36 is the starting point to consider additional protection against the rule 5 draft and free agent acquisitions.
