  1. I believe the Blue Jays are going to play Varsho in CF. Not sure that will be a good idea or not. I think the Blue Jays were asking for a lot for Jansen and lost out on the market after Vazquez, Contreras signed and the Murphy trade.
  2. I don't like this deal for the Blue Jays but then again I am not all that high on Varsho. It is like the Blue Jays traded a really good prospect for an ok player.
  3. He is also very cheap and doesn't really spend money on anything. He doesn't even leave tips when at a restaurant.
  4. I haven't looked at other teams but I think the same can be said about them and developing catchers. Catching is very difficult to produce and it is probably the most difficult because of how difficult the position is. A good catcher who can both hit and play defense is like finding a HOF QB in the NFL. The Brewers since 2012 have the 6th highest wRC+, 5th highest in oWAR, 1st in dWAR and 2nd in WAR. I would say that is pretty good. Notice a team that has a HOF bound catcher is only in one of these lists. While the development of the players haven't been all that great the results the Brewers have been getting at catcher have been phenomenal since 2012.
  5. So far the signings are: Wisconsin Class of 2023 signees PLAYER POS STARS RANK STATE James Durand OL 4 341 AZ Braedyn Moore S 4 342 OH Amare Snowden CB 4 426 MI Nate White RB 3 668 WI Jonas Duclona CB 3 688 FL Jace Arnold CB 3 728 GA Trech Kekahuna WR 3 765 NV A.J. 6. Utilities and phone plans only show up on your credit report if you do not pay them. If you pay them they don’t show up. Basically only lines of credit show up as positives in your credit report. It is possible that someone has a below 600 credit score and are not as risky as someone who has a 650 score but a lot of missed payments etc. If you have no credit in the past then your score will be low by default since there is no history. Best way right now to get a good credit score is to get a prepaid credit card or one that is linked to your bank account. Those can actually fluff up your score if you have very little to no credit history. These are also good ways to improve a bad score if you have a recent bankruptcy or mismanaged your credit in the past.
  7. YouTube is the current front runner for the NFL Sunday Ticket as Apple has bowed out.
  8. Starting pitching is still a need for them. They have also been connected with Hendricks from the White Sox. For Baty I think that would require Williams which I would be 100000000000% ok with. If you trade a reliever and get back a stud like Baty sign me up. I don’t care about losing someone like Williams if we are getting someone back like Baty. The bullpen can be figured out through FA then.
  9. The Brewers only have 52 games against NL Central teams I believe. Which leaves 110 games which are spread out between the AL and NL. The Brewers will play against every MLB team in ‘23. The Brewers play the Twins 4 times as usual. So 106 games against everyone else.
  10. Another bullet dodged. Even though this is a small deal I think the Angels will be regretting this after the first month of the season.
  11. The schedule has changed this year so the teams in each division don't play each other as much as each team will face every team in the AL and NL. This year the Brewers will only play 13 games against each NL Central team. All of the games are also spread out more. For example the Brewers start with the Cubs but then don't see the Cubs again until July. The Brewers only play 9 games against the NL Central 3 vs Cubs and 6 vs Cardinals in March-May. The Brewers don't play the Pirates or Reds until June. After May the Brewers don't play the Cardinals again until September. Teams really won't be able to lineup starters against their divisional teams like they used to with the older schedule. The newer schedule spreads everything out. You can't just pick and choose now on how your starters lineup with your competition in your own division.
  12. You are not really mitigating risk though you are just choosing which risk you believe is less likely to happen. Basically in your scenario you are stating you prefer the risk of a veteran's performance falling off versus the unknown of a rookie. I would prefer the unknown as that has a higher chance of getting a positive result than the veteran does. Someone like Drury or Anderson I think have the same risk as Turang so I don't see a mitigation there. Really I don't see many veterans that are available right now who would mitigate the risk of the rookies playing. Drury and Anderson to me are equally risky as Turang. In the OF I don't see anyone who would be less riskier than Mitchell, Frelick or Wiemer. All of them have some kind of warts. I think it is far more probable that Mitchell outperforms someone like Meyers and Turang equals the production that Drury brings.
  13. Wiemer started out the year fine at AA and then he got hurt. I believe he had a minor injury in June or July as his power numbers just absolutely bombed around then. I think there was something in the link reports on here stating he didn't look right and his power was just gone for awhile from June through July. His numbers kind of back this up. In April and May he hit fine in AA but then he got hurt or was dealing with something in June and everything started going south from there. He looks like he finally fully healed up in August when you see his slugging shoot up to .550. I think he was dealing with an injury from June - July and that is why his numbers dipped like they did.
  14. I think the Marlins would prefer to keep their cost controlled pitching and would prefer to trade Lopez than Cabrera. I think Garrett is probably the one they would prefer to trade out of all of their young pitching that they have control over. I don't see the Marlins trading Rogers and even if the Marlins did trade him it would cost Frelick plus more to get him. I believe best case scenario for Mitchell or Wiemer is in a package for Garrett or someone similar.
  15. The Marlins make the most sense here but Mitchell's and Wiemer's value would only get you someone like Garrett. I don't think Lopez would be someone the Brewers would want as he only has 2-years left '23 and '24 before he is a free agent so that puts the Brewers in the same spot as they are in now. Rogers is probably a better target but I don't see the Marlins trading him. The Marlins best option really is to trade Lopez to the Orioles for Mullins. That makes the most sense for the Marlins and Orioles. Beyond the Marlins I am not sure there is a fit elsewhere. Maybe Cleveland but I don't think Mitchell or Wiemer would really be someone of interest to them.
  16. Not picking on you but, earlier it was FA was moving to slow and now it has moved quickly.
  17. I think Rosenthal fits under this style of thinking and he would be someone the Brewers might go after. I wouldn't rule out Chapman maybe his problems are mostly NY media based problems but I wouldn't rule out a reunion with the Cubs either for Chapman. If the Brewers could get Chapman on a 1-year $10m deal I wouldn't be opposed to that.
  18. If Baltimore trades an OF it is probably Mullins for Lopez from the Marlins.
  19. I put everything on my credit cards and then pay them off at the end of the month. I don’t like paying for things with my debit card. You have basically zero protection against fraud with your debit card. Well there are some protections but it takes forever for the money to be returned. Far easier to remove charges on your credit card and you are protected more than you are with your debit card.
  20. No fan fest this winter. No official source other than it is not on the Wisconsin Convention center calendar. This would have been on the calendar by now if they were going to have one. As hawing said this was normally advertised towards the end of the season. Since there hasn't been any news which is bad news for an event like this then we can say with near 100% certainty that this event will not be occurring any time soon.
  21. Probably will get better results from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AutographAssistance/
  22. I don’t think PC was all that interested in recruiting at all regardless of what he did after recruiting Mertz. Fickell looks to be a better recruiter than PC at least so far he does. Will need to revisit this in 3-years to see if this is true or not.
  23. Ovechkin with goal #800 tonight on a hat trick. https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/alex-ovechkin-scores-800th-career-goal-in-hat-trick-vs-chicago-joins-wayne-gretzky-gordie-howe-in-800-club/
  24. The company I work for it depends on what department you are in on how the evaluation is looked at. They used to have this where you had to have x% of people in meets, needs improvement and exceeds. There used to be very heated debates in the yearly manager meetings about this. Thankfully they finally got rid of that stupid rule no idea who thought that was a good idea must have been an absolute moron in HR who thought that one up. Right now it is extremely hard to get exceeds and if you are getting an exceed the next question from upper management is this person going to be promoted or not. If they are not on track to be promoted then they have to a really good reason why they are not and why they are getting an exceeds. Other departments I have been in it is like oh you did something this year here have an exceeds. It was basically useless as it meant nothing but management used it as an excuse why raises were lower in that department. Look you got an exceeds why aren't you happy with getting only a .1% raise?
