Worst TV Play by Play Teams

Who do you feel is the worst grouping of people to cover professional sports?

I will start. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Pam Oliver. I cannot tell you who is the best of the three, because they are all terrible. Uuggghhhh!

Anyone with "Hawk."

I'd play the "anyone with Joe Morgan" card, but that would be to easy.

I really can't stand "Circle me Bert" either.

Tony Kornheiser with anyone

I rephrase this....

Kornheiser NOT on PTI

And Kornheiser is twice as worse if its a game involving Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers

Posted

-Jim Nantz and Billy Packer were pretty bad.

-The Monday Night Football team sucks. No Kornheiser this season, but Jon Gruden just seems awkward in the booth.

-Kasper and Brenly

-The ESPN Sunday Night Football team was pretty godawful, too. Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann, and Paul McGuire was just downright unwatchable.

I love Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, although that might be more because I hear their voices and I know it's a big game.

I hate any broadcast that features Phil Simms or Bill Walton. I still am waiting for the technology that will allow me to mute those idiots while allowing insight from their coworkers

Joe Morgan and Joe Buck are about the only two that actively annoy me on a routine basis.

You need to watch more college football, then. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Pretty much anyone broadcasting a non-ABC Big Ten game that isn't Wayne Larivee is horrific.

I actually think that Aikman is the best NFL color commentator out there now. I think he does a tremendous job.

I enjoy Buck's work in both baseball and football as well.

i like Aikman, too. it's hard to find a decent football colour guy these days.

the big fat guy who does sideline stuff for Fox is annoying and useless. but then so are all of the women who do sideline stuff, too.

i think the most annoying baseball commentator is whoever the second Cubs radio guy is. He basically has the personality of the ordinary fan, so whenever anything big is happening all you hear is a "whoa" and an "wow" and some cheers, but never any actual commentary.

As you know Monte, Vaughn has been working on a couple of new pitches: the Eliminator, and the Humiliator; to compliment his fast ball, the Terminator.

Monte: I heard that.

Harry Doyle: Dynamite drop in, Monte. That broadcast school has really paid off.

Ron Santos and is Pat Hughes, mainly because Ron Santos is the worst announcer I have ever heard. I think that is who game05 is talking about. I remember listening to a game and all I remember him say was "Oh Gawd..Oh Gawd..no..no" when a Cubs pitcher threw a ball.

Just imagine if someone put Joe Buck and Kornheiser in the same booth. Ego explosion.

I hate Joe Buck, in all circumstances. I love Kornheiser on PTI, but keep him very far away from a broadcast booth. Theismann is an ass.

I used to hate the White Sox announcers but they are OK sometimes just their home run calls get rather annoying after awhile.

Is that stupid Joe Buck show still on HBO? Did anyone watch the first one the Artie Lange single-handedly turned into a train wreck?

Yes, I did. And it sounds like T Bone needs to watch it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

After suffering through this series at WAS on Extra Innings, anyone with Rob Dibble. Rob Dibble has made these past three games even more miserable. He actually said before Looper's start that 'the important thing is that the team is winning with Looper on the mound... that's what you need to look at for a starting pitcher' (not verbatim, but aside from that precisely what he stated).

Rob Dibble is the only baseball analyst on television I've ever heard make noises during a play with regularity, i.e. "Ooh! Oh! I dunno if he'll make it... WOW!"

I generally like Jim Palmer but when they played the Brewers he referred to Carlos Villanueva as "Villanova" whereupon his partner promptly called him "Villareal".
