We're leaving for this game in about an hour, and I'm super excited. I've missed you, Brewers, Miller Park and baseball-in-person.

It's also on WIBA AM in Madison.

I believe it's on the entire Brewers Radio Network this afternoon, as I am listening on AM 940 WFAW.

Can't believe this Monday is Opening Day. Sadly, I have to work, but will be able to at least watch the game while working on TV.

i know its just pre-season, but I want a win! come on boys, save the pitching staff and score two in the bottom of the 9th

That's probably the most fun I've ever had listening to a exhibition game. Good to hear Corey come through with the bat and the legs in the ninth. Real baseball is only two days away!

A lot of fun at the park today. My son got on the video screen and also scored a ball from Escobar (the line drive he caught as the 3rd out of an early inning).

As we moved to start the ninth, I asked the friend we went with "Is this a sign of what this year will be like? I don't know if I'll be able to take it." Following Corey scoring the winner, he finally responded, "Yeah, all year long will be just like this." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Yes, the hawing party was delighted to see bensheeps' son on the videoboard, and I only regret not having my camera in position in time to record the moment.

We had the best seats of our lives today (rows 2-3 of section 115, and the only people in front of me were short kids) for this classic wacky slugfest, and while it would have been interesting to see a Brewers home run launched from that near angle, we got plenty of other closeup views to make up for the lack of home team dingers. I was working with a new camera and I already feel like the investment was worthwhile.

Up close, Gregg Zaun just oozes grit and scruff. He popped his head out of the dugout before the game and the S.O. got some eye contact with him.

I am concerned about Mitch Stetter. I was really pleased with Chris Narveson's appearance and share the dismay of many here that Soup apparently remains ahead of him in the pecking order.

The scoreboard conked out in the latter innings, but before the Brewers gave up entirely on showing lineups, a weird lineup from the past appeared for less than a minute. I didn't notice the opponent information but the Brewers' lineup included Mench and Graffanino. That was entertaining.

I love being back at the park and can't wait for Tuesday, and Friday, and next Sunday, and the rest of our games.

Hawing

The mystery lineup in the latter innings also included Turnbow on the mound facing the Phillies on the visitors side.

Guessing the stadium crew will be putting in long hours tonight and tomorrow to make sure everything is ready for Monday (he says with fingers crossed)

one wonders if the scoreboard outages are "planned" in a method of, "okay, everybody, what do we do during the regular season if THIS happens. . . . ." just to see how the team (of techs) cope with the problem

Thats interesting, that could be.

Reminds me of Apollo 13 when they are in the simulator and everything is going to hell. Just running those poor scoreboard techs into the ground with master cautions and red lights flashing everywhere.

Personally, the broken scoreboard adds a nice touch to the stadium. Reminds me of my childhood, when they had to call in that guy from Germany to fix the County Stadium scoreboard. It also encourages fans to score the game by hand.

On a more serious note, I am curious what they are going to do about the new scoreboard. A fancy HD board would be nice, but I do not see how it can go in the current location without being protected with some sort of shield. It is one thing for a cheap matrix board to get hit all the time, but it would be extremely expensive for that to happen with a new scoreboard. Most other teams have their fancy scoreboards out of reach of home runs.

I thought the guy was from Switzerland. But OWBC's serious note is valid: it's hard to imagine where else they would put a new scoreboard.

Also, thanks Invader, for indirectly reminding me that I can relive Saturday's game through the magic of my audio subscription.
