This team will achieve the things we know its capable of when Yost either picks a same starting 8 that play 95% of the time or when Yost is shown the door. Whichever comes first.

Couldn't agree more. Once Weeks is back, there is no reason that our lineup shouldn't be consisting of Estrada, Prince, Weeks, Hardy, Braun, Jenkins/Mench (preferably just Jenkins), Hall and Hart 6 out of 7 games a week.

Give it a chance to work Ned.

I just woke up from a great nights sleep. Im ready for this team to extend their lead to 6.5 games tonight.

We've been in first place for about 2 months. It's a good time to be a Brewer fan!!!

That's impossible. The Cubs are only 5 games back.

Normally, this would be an easy set-up to make a joke about how the Cubs can make impossibly bad things become possible. However, after blowing a 99.4% chance of victory last night, I don't think Brewer fans have much to laugh about right now in that regard.

This is the 1000th post in the vent thread and the silver lining thread only has 58, something is wrong with that.

We're 9-19 over the past month. What did you expect? You can only say "Braun looks good" so many times in the silver lining thread, but there have been a million-and-one things to vent about when it comes to this team.

Posted

Not only that, the Vent thread has a 2 1/2 month-ish head start.

Plus isn't it alway easier to be negative than positive.

I was at last nights game. Boy did I look stupid. You can see me in the background of Marlon Byrd's diving catch highlight. I'm the one leaning over the rail heaving.

Would anyone else on this board pay over 500,000 per home run? Because that's the production they are getting out of Bill Hall right now. This year Bill Hall doesn't win game, he makes me cringe. I'm so sick of hearing how hard he's hitting the ball right now, and he's just around the corner. It's JUNE. Bill Hall is a master thief stealing over 3 mil from the Crew this year. Down right pathetic... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

I have to agree with theHall thing. He has been "just about there" since the start of May.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

The Brewers were master thieves last year, stealing 35 HR and an .898 OPS from Bill Hall for a measly $418,000. How about that?

Players get paid for past performance, sad but true. It's silly to call any player a thief. The team was willing to pay him that salary, and he deserves it.

He's going to hit.

Lance Berkman had a .720 OPS going into the week, Atkins has a sub .700 OPS. Soriano was under an .800 OPS just a couple weeks ago and is well over .900 now.

Baseball is a streaky game, complain all you want about a player but its just part of the game not them being greedy or anything like that.

So apparently it's not alright to even vent on this board without being criticized for you opinion? I'm not a second grader, I understand how salaries and baseball work. Fact is, he is not producing. And streaks don't last over 2 months. If you guys are so happy over Hall's performance this season, head over to the silver lining thread.

The venting thread isn't immune to discussion.... If you're going to put an opinion out there, it's open to criticism. You're going to need to be able to handle that.

[ And streaks don't last over 2 months. ]

Why not?... It's happened before to several players.

sports.espn.go.com/mlb/st...d=a&pos=cf

In fact, Vernon Wells has _worse_ numbers than Billy this year.

[ If you guys are so happy over Hall's performance this season, head over to the silver lining thread. ]

This is a pretty flagrant mischaracterization. No one here is "happy" with Bill Hall's performance this season. Many of us just believe there are players going through worse slumps, and we should just ride it out.

No, Mr. Strawman.

And no one has said they're happy about the way he's played. He's been awful. The difference is, some of us think he is a really good player (and his numbers from 2006 and 2006 would seem to back this up), just having a rough start. While others apparently think that he can't hit anymore, or is a flash in the pan - which it's hard to be when you have had two excellent seasons.

Posted

I think Wells is a bad example to say "worse" they are performing about the same. Wells' OPS is .001 lower than Hall's, however Wells has more hits, scored more runs, driven in more, stole more bases and struck out less. I know there isn't much of a difference in numbers, however Wells' situational numbers are slightly better than Hall's.

And I, just like everyone am just fed up with this bad, bad baseball.

Ok, if you're going to pick nits, Mike Cameron, then.

Do you really need me to go find you several examples of 2 month slumps?

Look, people can have whatever opinion they want and they can vent all they want especially in this thread. My personal vent is that people jump to conclusions over small sample sizes of data and thats what we have so far this season.

It really bothers me that people throw away the previous 1100 PA's he's had and dwell on the most recent 200 like its his true talent. The guy has been in a slump, eventually it will get better.

Every year dozens of players have terrible first halves and good second halves and vice versa its just how baseball works.

HUH?? I just read this over at MilwaukeeBrewers.com.

'Milwaukee has now lost 19 of its last 28 games, but manager Ned Yost is far from worried.

"It's not devastating," he said. "We're not dead. It's a ballgame. We'll be back tomorrow. It's definitely tough, but it's not devastating." '

http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Now I seriously think I want to go puke. Yost is beyond belief in his assessment of his free-falling team. Unbelievable! There's no other way to react to that quote. Yost is living a lie. Come on Ned I figured you to be a smarter manager than that. sigh.

I'm not trying to nit pick, I'm just saying. I understand bad and good halves, years, the whole nine. I just think he NEEDS to produce more, and consistently.

Seriously, what do you think he's going to say? "Yeah, we suck. These guys are horrible. I wish the Cubs the best of luck in the playoffs. We're just going to hang it up for the year."

Any coach who would do the opposite and say "we're dead, the seasons over" deserves to be fired.
