yea ned just doesn't get it. He thinks that we can just keep losing and then start winning again without any changes. He is an idiot. I think hes a good manager but hes just full of crap right now. How can he not be pannicking. We were 14 games over .500 and they way its going right now, agaisnt the tigers and the twins on the road, we wo'nt be over .500 for very much longer.

Do you really think what Ned says to the media reflects what he honestly feels?

probably not, however maybe he should tell everyone how he really feels instead of giving the same bs lines after every loss. Maybe calling out the team is what they need right now.

all right, I'll vent about 4 consecutive innings with 2 runners on and all four innings both runners are stranded.

Oh, and C.B. Buckner is a bad umpire.

How are other teams catchers stealing 2nd base. That is a joke.

EDIT - I hate when gamecast says its a strike called a ball, and ball called a strike.

First post in the thread (I think) but I just wanted to vent that this season is becoming dangerously close to a learning season that these guys will talk about next year. You know the variety, Prince will say something like we learned how to deal with tough losses, how to close out games, etc. We have had more than out share of learning experience seasons and with the talent on this team and the lack of talent on other teams, this shouldn't be happening. Hopefully this will be my last post in this thread as I have a very high threshold of what I can take but the weight is starting to make my knees tremble.

I'll vent again that Bill Hall is lost. I know that C.B. Buckner has a humongous strike zone tonight (either he has a late flight to the coast for his next assignment or he starts his vacation tomorrow) but Bill needs to swing the bat if it is close. And he should have learned from watching everybody else go down on close pitches that you better swing at them if they're close.

Oh, and we left 2 more runners on base (albeit after we took the lead)

2 runs on 11 hits vs. Padilla in less than 5 innings. Maybe it's perception, but there seems to be a lot of games like that recently.

Granted, they have 6 runs in the 7th inning (on 15 hits), but wasted opportunities are really running rampant lately.

to heck with this team. giving runners bases all the time, 0-2 pitches left up in the zone when they should be bounced in the dirt. I'm sick of it, this team is down right horrible and its just going to get worse from here on out.

Villy's a starter by trade, but he can't pitch the 12th after pitching well in the 10th and 11th?? Yost has to get creative and bring in Vargas!?!?!

The Yost haters are looking more and more correct by the day.

Villanueva pitched two innings on Friday which makes 4 innings in 3 days as a reliever. That's harder than doing it in one night when you talk about stretching a guy out. It made plenty of sense to use Vargas.

I don't know. I think this game goes in the Yost supporters' arsenal. Great lineup tonight. A questionable move to put Spurling in over Villanueva early which paid off. Vargas closing it out worked well.

Still upset Estrada can't block a ball in the dirt. If I was a pitcher I wouldn't want to put a ball in the dirt.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

We knew that Estrada was a defensive liability behind the plate when we got him.

The trade off was that he is a 0.300 hitter and switch-hitter.

I thought we were getting a poor man's Ted Simmons.

But I assumed he wasn't much of a defensive catcher.

watching the Brewers squeeze play,

the 0-2 pitch that coco threw to Byrd was a horrible pitch. Why he didn't throw a couple in the dirt is amazing. Then the Lofton play where he threw out TGJ was was a bad call. CB Bucknor is a horrible umpire who feels the need for attention. He widens the strike zone on 2 strike pitches just so he can use his overly excited punch out. I feel like it shows up the players everytime he does it.

Posted
this is why C.B. Bucknor tends to be rated as one of the worst umps by players and managers. He tends to be a "look at me" ump, according to many of the hits I got on google for "C.B. Bucknor player evaluations"
