I know those weren't hard hit balls, but Barnes is our 4th or 5th best reliever. Why Counsell continues to be so in love with him as his '8th inning guy' reminds me of the Kameron Loe/Ron Roenicke era.

Shocker that Harper got tossed. That was obviously going to happen as soon as he went 1-1. That strike 3 to Shaw was marginally worse than any of the pitches to Harper.

Might have to consider making Hughes the 8th inning set up man going forward. Or maybe Swarzak when he gets to the team.

 

Are they sending him over on a horse and buggy? He was traded over 24 hours ago. He's still not here?

The funny part is, he got a 98 mph fastball right down the middle and missed it right after swinging at a slider about 2 feet off the plate. Even if you think you were screwed out of the first strike, and you weren't, you still really have no one to blame but yourself there.
