Seriously, what does Sogard add to the team at this point? Grit is not a thing.

Well, going into tonight, his OBP with the Brewers was .387.

Three blown saves since Knebel injury and Knebel had one himself. Yet our bullpen is our strength?

Well, they do have to pitch 2/3 of almost every game because our starters aren’t very good.

I guess I've missed how good Barnes has been absent his 4/7 outing...

Point stands on Sogard. No reason for him to be on this team. Villar has been our hot hand lately, but we take him out in a double switch? Why not keep him on the field and take out Sogard instead?

So if Hader and Albers are unavailable you just have Jennings left?

Hoover as well

I guess you could say Perez too. He's so into pitching he even hits like a pitcher.

Those balls were basically in the others batters box. I think we probably will just disagree on these.

The second one bounced off of Bandy's leg. Either way it is lazy technique to try to backhand rather than block. Catching 101

Spiked 95mph fastballs are what they are. It is not easy so no, not catching 101.

The fundamental part is that when runners are on base you do not try to backhand pitches, you block them. Maybe the chance of blocking is only 5%, but it is still better than a backhand attempt on a spiked fastball.

Yea blocking my doesn’t always work at that stage.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

It feels like freaking October!

Ha, except there is about 500 people left in the stands in St. Louis.

the dogs are howling.

Fair enough, but his .174/.204/.304 should get him a one-way ticket to AAA now.

Villar has atleast one hit in every start (except 1) this season and sports a .342 batting average (including .314 coming into tonight) and was 2/3 already in this game. Why not let him keep raking?

I'm not arguing against Villar. I'm just providing information about what Sogard has added to the team.

Hernan is the one that should go bye bye. Terrible player.
