I'd have no problem trading for Osuna if I was a GM... I'm paid to win... He's one of the best closers in the game and Houston just got better...

Jays ownership decided he would never pitch for them again at the time of the incident. Good for them in my opinion. I wonder what a woman beater does to team chemistry.

Well the Yankees took back Champman and the same people who boo Hader etc will cheer him, so i guesss you pick your lines to draw.

Domestic violence would be a hard no go for me.

Ask any Brewer player from 2012 to 2015.

Stros-Sox will be those years World Series. Those teams are pretty great.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I don't have access to any unfortunately.

Those were some rough years though so I wouldn't be surprised if the chemistry sucked.

Respect...

"Don't force him to choose between Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. It's like asking someone to choose between which STD to contract!"

I have to agree , this opens the Astros to some criticism - and I too am of the camp that a know it all teenager quoting rap lyrics and spewing stupid speak, doesn't compare to a grown man putting his hands on a woman. Not even close.

As him - the pitcher - yes he is talented. But... yea. Seems many of you share the same sediments I have.

Verlander is not happy about this.

Didn't really get that vibe at all. Said he doesn't know the whole situation, isn't concerned that he wasn't consulted and will reserve judgment for now.

I read that as polite team speak for "I don't like it, but I'm not the GM and there's nothing I can do about it. Osuna is going to have to prove himself to me and my teammates."

Didn't KROD have some domestic violence issues?

Yes and Stearns first order of business was to ship him out of town.

Jeffress also had a domestic assault arrest while with the Royals but there was no striking per Jeffress.

When the Osuna domestic abuse stuff came out, Verlander had a really harsh tweet for him. His public response now is clearly muted and disappointed that the guy was acquired. He's not going to rail on a guy in his own clubhouse, but he's not happy.

Agreed 100%. The silver lining is that between this and Newcomb, it's pushing Hader into the background. Pretty soon every team will have someone to boo.

I agree. Lots of these kids - remember - were star athletes in high school... so they were "invincible" in their communities and schools. Wouldn't be surprised to see much more of this surfacing. It doesn't make it ok - i want to be clear on that - but there is a big difference between a 17 year old and a 27 year old. Or there should be anyhow!
