I want the crew to play these guys in the playoffs so much.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Dang it! That was one heck of a game.

This! Sucks to lose, but they didn't leave anything on the field today. Good battle.

Yeah it was a good game overall. We get a day off and our best arms should be well rested. Cubs have to play at 6 pm central time in DC tomorrow...and used most of their best relievers. It's all cumulative, maybe the Nats can take 2 of these and help us close the gap a bit. They still have a very very good lineup...

This series proved that the Cubs are NOT head and shoulders above the Brewers. These are two very evenly matched teams. If the Brewers can just take care of business the next couple weeks, they'll see each other again in the playoffs.

Clutchless showing there to end it.

You are going to get on the guy that hit a 2 run bomb a couple innings ago?

I took his post to be aimed at the team, not one player.

Not MrTPlush answering: I wouldn’t seriously get on Granderson, but the first AB with two runners on by Thames seems to fit the definition of clutchless.

Thames is what he is. Hero ball from him. Wish we weren’t tied up with him and his contract.

Thames went up there with his only thought of ending it with one swing. No patience at all. I thought Cain's AB was fine, and he kept it alive by beating out Bryant's throw.

His contract, while not small, isn't so big that they couldn't eat it if they really wanted to. It will be interesting to see what their plans are for him going into 2019. His best fit is in the AL as a platoon DH, but good luck finding a team looking for that.

What could have happened if MVP-candidate Yelich played 18-times-his-playing-time tonight? (18 multipied by 1/2 inning = 9 innings)

Sometimes guys just need a breather. Haudricourt was getting snippy on Twitter this evening with posters who were saying the same thing.

Thames ab was a killer. If he moves up the runners it's totally new situation. Wish there was a better option there but I think he was all we had. Too bad.

I would have rather had Pina up there. Much better contact hitter. But I see why they went with Thames. Can't deny the guy's late-inning heroics in his nearly two seasons as a Brewer.
