Cards playoff odds took a big hit, down to 72.3%, as they're now only a 1/2 game ahead of Colorado. Doesn't help that the Cards schedule is pretty rough for the rest of the season, playing the Brewers and then the Cubs, and they all stand to be pretty meaningful games.

The big takeaway here (and obviously, I think) is that even losing the next two now, is the Brewers leave St. Louis, no matter what, with the WC lead, and they go home to play Detroit, who has nothing to play for, and has an absolutely gutted roster.

This is the big takeaway no doubt. Tonight I feel for the first time we are in.

If both CO and LA stay hot out west, the bigger takeaway is that the cards would be in danger of missing the playoffs altogether with another brewer win this series...that makes them play like mad against the cubs this whole weekend to give the brewers a very real chance at the division.
