Freddy!! Has answered the bell many times this season. Futures bright with that one. Well done kid!

The other thing to remember about Schoop is that it's not like he's a lefty killer. He strongly favors RHP like most of the rest of the team, but he's been forced into the role of lefty specialist because Shaw is so much better vs. RHP. Not an easy position for him to be in.

Which is a fail on Stearns part for acquiring a player who didn’t really fit on the roster.

I fully agree. Villar fits this team much better on paper, which I why I think there was clubhouse issues and Stearns decided to deal him for a 2019 starting 2B.

Can’t believe Rich Hill tried to knock that ball out of the air on the throw to 1st. I bet A-Rod loves it.

Hard to be too critical...it's the pitcher and watching him do anything but pitch is comical.

Are people really complaining about schoop after he just hit our hardest ball of the night? I get he has been bad but that ball was smoked. Just unlucky. Just like Braun's an inning ago

I saw him hit into a double play.

Then you saw what you wanted. Yes that is what happened but he also hit an absolute rocket. He looked bad before that but seriously sometimes you just get unlucky.

No, I didn't want to see him hit into a double play.

Stearns and Counsell have done a lot of good and hopefully they are both around for a very long time, but starting Schoop in a game of this magnitude is borderline Kotsay in CF bad. He is one of the worst hitters I've seen in my entire life, and I've seen a lot of bad baseball players over the years in Milwaukee.

I would have to check but I believe every single ab Schoop has had since becoming a brewer he has been in an 0-2 count.

Not sure about Brewer/Orioles,but overall he got in 108 0-2 counts in 501 PA, 22%

The entire NL was at 21% in 92,885 PAs

Yes. Fire Stearns.

Why would you do that?

This series is ridiculous. I feel like Albers could even throw 0's on the board. Should we test that theory?

It’s just as nuts as many of these hot takes any time something goes wrong in our game, so why not?

You know what I mean man. He hit the ball hard. Obviously it was a double play but not every good hit finds a hole. No need to debate it anymore. I am not a huge schoop guy. Wouldn't have started him tonight. But he got unlucky that didn't find a hole

It's a ground ball, not a lineout, not a warning track shot, a grounder.

Yet hes looked better than Cain or Yelich so go figure.

All true. Just have to remember they thought they needed a SS for this year at the time of trade. That ended up not being the case, just saying at the time of trade you could see what was going on.

even as a general Schoop defender. I was still not a fan of it and to me my general not liking of it stems from the low obp free swinger type in general. preferred targeting the contact Walker type like the year before, Daniel Murphy, etc. I just chalk this fall off up to circumstance, not judging off results. He is not as bad as he's looked, that's where my defending comes from
