Anybody that grew up in the Milwaukee area remember Organ Piper Pizza out on Hwy 100? When I was a kid I thought they had the best pizza...of course, the arcade next to the restaurant probably influenced me. I see that it's still around. Is it any good?

Of course! Grew up 5 minutes from Organ Piper. Went to many birthday parties there. I hope it survives the pandemic. I also have no idea if the pizza was any good or not :)

Speaking of Milwaukee pizza near hwy 100, my grandma just sent a text the other day and said she's looking forward to me coming to visit (she lives right off 100). She said she will treat me and my family to Balistreri's Pizza! It's a tradition that we always get that when we visit. I think we may have discussed their pizza on the board already but this made me think of it. We always get it from the one on 68th. Now my mouth is watering!

Coming back from Mississippi, we spent the night at Edinburgh IN. Place there called Snappy Tomato Pizza which was really good.

I would nominate either Rosati's or Ann's for best Hwy 100 pizza. And now I'm hungry.

Pre-COVID, I used to buy (and expense) Pizza Hut for my team when we worked late nights or weekends. It was a way to show appreciation for the crew, while at the same time demonstrating to Senior Management that I wasn’t abusing my expense account (‘it’s only Pizza Hut’). :)

I went to Organ Piper for the first time a couple years ago. I was actually surprised at how much I liked the pizza. I was expecting garbage but it was pretty good.

Pothole frozen pizzas from Kwik Trip are excellent!

They are pretty awesome, and if you stop in the day after a Packer win, it's buy one get one free.

Otherwise they are too expensive, but if you get them for $4 each after the BOGO deal, they are well worth the price...

I used to think that the Lotza Motzas were the best frozen pizza, but the Potholes have overtaken them for the frozen pizza crown..............................imo.

I took your advice and got some on Monday to celebrate a big packer win. I agree they are excellent but the kids didn’t care for them. They also didn’t like the lotza motza pizzas I got once either though.

Pothole is the Hormel brand that Kwik Trip replaced Heggies with? If so not a fan at all, too much sauce and toppings. I guess that is the idea but could only eat a couple of pieces and never wanted it again. But I am not a fan of Lotza Motza except the taco either.

If Lottza Mottza or PotHole is your favorite pizza just admit all you want is grease and a disturbing amount of cheese/toppings with a sliver of crust to make it edible. I personally find it to be too much for the amount of crust. The taste isn't bad....but its just excessive for toppings. A toned down version would be better for me.

I tend to get Portesi if I want to be fancy/expensive with my frozen pizza these days. I just can't decide if I hate the sauce or if it is decent. It is a very dark/pasty sauce that is hot with little sweetness. Not exactly my preferred style of sauce.

Emil's is good, and made in Watertown. Pretty sure they used the same packaging photo as Tombstone. I know Tombstone is very popular but I never really liked it. I'd rather have a Jack's. Found it to be too much sauce and too pillowy. I generally prefer a crispy pie. Costco recently had Roncadin which I tried and also found it to be really good, then it was gone on my next trip.

That reaction is a bit extreme. lol

I enjoy what Pothole provides, and no, grease and disturbing amounts of cheese/toppings is not what I'm looking for.

I don't think they are excessive at all, at least not on the pepperoni version, which is the only one I have tried. I think it's the perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, especially on a pizza for $4 after the buy one get one free offer the day after Packer victories.

I am a pizza addict. Out here in the PNW, I have at various times been mildly addicted to Hot Lips pizza (w the local Whole Wheat crusts) the Way Out Inn in Troutdale, Oregon (also w local wheat). Nowadays, after a bout of Salmonella I find I am struggling w the Glooooooten so have been eating ‘Against the Grain’ pepperoni pizza. Surprisingly good GF pizza whole crust is primarily cheese-based.

I am actually so desperate for the ‘real thing’, I am growing a Landrace of Hard Winter Wheat this season to accumulate wheat seeds to grow out further and grind my own flour. LOL. As I said: pizza addict. I already built my own clay pizza oven this Fall. Destiny awaits!

Edit to Add: It is my own personal contention that I don’t have celiacs or gluten intolerance but rather a reaction to the herbicide treatments used in the industrial wheat field drying process. They do the same thing w peas etc. I shall find out in due time if this holds true.

I made a quinoa based crust once that was pretty good. Probably works better for cheese bread/sticks but it was a pretty good thin crust for a homemade pie.

Sorry to hear that Julio, I can't imagine not being able to eat regular pizza.

My daughter has been going through some issues and it is pretty much decided that she can't eat dairy or gluten.

Real pizza is out for her, she found something in the frozen pizza section that didn't have either, and she said she took a bite, and threw the rest out in disgust.

A pizza free life is not one I'd want to live...lol

If you all have Natural Grocers (formerly 'Vitamin Cottage' - not sure if this is a Mountain West and West Coast chain), have her try the 'Against the Grain' pizzas. They are Vermont based so they have good dairy...Oh shoot...no dairy? Good lawwwwwd. Yeah, my wife eats 'Daiya'. That stuff is essentially melted plastic. Good grief. I really REALLY feel sorry for Vegans or peeps who can't eat dairy. That would be the death of me.

Yeah, I can't do most of the grains. Sadly. I used to eat quinoa here and there. I found it extremely satisfying when I pre-fried it in a cast-iron. They pop like lil popcorn nuggets. Then, when cooked, they retain a bit of that popped flavor. Sublime. I learned the technique while in Peru. A lot of the Quechua people do that.

emils is my favorite. i think you are right, PH or LM are just too much cheese and toppings.

Most be pretty local, never seen that one. Though the packaging and the pictures online honestly looking very "meh" for the price.

Emils is pretty local, although that may have changed. It's basically a good frozen pizza with the sauce having a different spice to it.

Emils is local. My family business used to get quite a few pizzas so we would talk to the owner. They are made in Green Bay along with quite a few other small pizza companies.
