He’s pitched in like 40 games and has 21 saves. And he doesn’t have 15-20 blown saves. He’s pitched in plenty of these situations.

Hader had a couple of bad stretches like this two seasons ago. Gave up runs in 3 straight and 4 straight appearances in 2019. Otherwise, he was the Hader we normally see. Hopefully, this is just one of those stretches and he bounces back after break.

For me it has to do with being able to enjoy this draft tonight. I’ve been looking forward to it for a while. And a worrying series that wiped away a significant portion of all the gains this team made in just one week, and now no games for 4 days, makes my enjoyment of the draft tonight less likely .

They do need about 2-3 real hitters (sorry Tellez) or else as their starters hit their innings marks they’re going to have some real problems winning games with Lindblom starting and a bunch of bats with sub .700 OPS

We are seeing that pitching and defense isn’t enough. Hopefully Attanasio and Stearns can find a way to acquire some offense this off-season so we don’t completely waste our window of good starting pitching.
