2021-08-03: Pirates (Kranick) at Brewers (Houser) [Brewers lose, 8-5 in 10 innings -- Houser doesn’t allow a hit over 6.1 IP and exits with 4-run lead; things quickly unravel in the 7th]

When Curtis misses his spot, it's right down the middle - yeesh this is a tough inning. Gotta get out of this one without further damage.

If Norris doesn't crap the bed against all the Pirate lefties in this sequence it's still a 4-1 game

Houser isn't used to over 100 pitches but given the circumstance. Why are messing around with these new dudes when Sanchez has been looking pretty good all year. I don't get it.

I mean, we were destined to have one bad inning against the pirates this year…

A 6 man rotation, yes? With 5 days+ rest? In August? And somehow 100 pitches is fully worked? I don't get it.

Houser was gassed. He could barely find the plate in the 6th and wasn't finding all that much in the beginning of the 7th.

These new guys can’t even get an out.

Neither of them have any command.

Is there anybody left down on the farm that could help?

Needed to do better at the deadline with regard to the pen and didn't.

Seems a little premature to make any determination about how good or bad they’re going to be for the Brewers.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Houser was just as likely to walk 5 more guys before getting 5 more outs the way he was going - this is mostly on Norris not getting his job done followed by an error at the worst time and a bases clearing double that was 2 inches from being a harmless foul ball.

Getting traded to new teams in the middle of a season can never be easy. Hopefully, both will settle in here. Need them to.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

No. That's literally why the ghost of John Axford pitched yesterday.

If only they had 2 dominant relievers they could use. Oh that’s right, it’s not the 8th or 9th inning so they are not allowed to see the field

He's gone over 100 pitches once before. He's not conditioned to go well past 100 pitches. We can want him to, but that's just not how these guys are conditioned to go any more.

How much different do we feel if Adames doesn't botch that double play ball? The next at bat was on him but he should have been out of the inning
