The Cubs are so bad at weather. They suspend a game when there's no rain and then play a stupid late doubleheader in the midst of a biblical thunderstorm. Genius.

So if the game is called do they just scrap it…..and play 2 full 7 inning games tomorrow or do they pick it up where it left off and then play the 2nd game as a 7 inning deal?

 

I know in the past if a game didn’t go 5 innings it was just cancelled and rescheduled.

Yeah, so many questions. Like, is this locked in as a 7-inning game? Could they suspend and play 5 innings of this one and then a full 9-inning game the same day?

 

It's up to the umps now, at least. Anything to get the Cubs out of meteorology.

Seems like they should try to wait it out and get it in, even if it starts up at 10 it is still only 5 more innings but I guess there is always tomorrow. I have no clue how they handle this stuff anymore.

The reds bullpen is atrocious. Garrett came in after hembree struggled to start the 6th. Garrett has thrown 11 pitches and only 1 in the strike zone. Two walks later braves are up 1 with the bases still loaded

You're probably right. If they suspend, the stats will count, and I have seen other games started and suspended.

I thought it was that if a game was tied after 5innings they restarted that game from where it last was as it was official status. Anything short of that they played a new game.

They will do everything they can to finish this. I don’t know how hard it is to schedule and play a day game after they cancel a night game, but it’s gotta be a lot of work.
