I agree, I am excited about what fully formed Ashby is going to look like in a few years.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Ashby, hader, Williams, box & houser could be a nasty bullpen in the postseason.

I had no idea he threw that hard, seem to remember prospect reports that he topped out at 93-94. He is a much better prospect than I gave him credit for, surprised he isn't on more top 100 lists but maybe he is.

I don’t think I trust Ashby enough to be on the post season roster. Maybe he will get more opportunities here but just don’t trust that he would be reliable yet.

Wonder if Counsell considered Ashby to start and Houser out of the pen. Ashby's troubles this year started when they moved him to the pen in AAA, and righted themselves as soon as they put him back into a starting role. Meanwhile, Houser has never really had trouble coming out of the pen.

Two hours, fifteen minutes to get through five. Hopefully not having a bottom of the ninth will speed things along.

How is this kid not a top 100 prospect? What profile do you need if not what he brings to the table?

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

this could apply to the majority of the bullpen. Few have the stuff Ashby does.

Didn't Ashby used to rock the rec specs a la Hader? Seems to be pitching better in contacts.

Yeah, he had glasses. One of the broadcasts mentioned he didn’t wear them for an outing recently because the hot/humid weather was causing them to fog up. I don’t believe he has worn them since.

They are afraid of Wong hitting for the cycle!

[sarcasm]The Brewers are hoping to use the Dodgers strategy of hyping to prospect-nik media types their modiocre-ish top pick prospects like Turang and Small to trade away while never mentioning guys like Ashby who they plan to keep[/sarcasm]

They’ll do.

I think he was trying to avoid Yelich with that throw

Base running on this team with Wong, Yelich, Cain, etc is amazing. Hard to put a number on runs gained, but we have for sure swiped some runs lately!
