I think the Crew takes the NLDS.

They need the Cards to exit in the WC game or NLDS, or they fall short in the NLCS again.

The offense needs work. I mean, it REALLY needs work.

Fried and Morton have been lights out in the 2nd half of the season.

Going to be very tough to score in games with those guys against Burnes and Woody.

I mean…the Crew ranks 10th in runs scored. I’m sure that number is higher if you kick out the first month. They haven’t been great/dynamic lately. But they are just fine.

That number might be higher, however, if you remove every teams worst month, they might still be at #10.

right. they are the #10 offense. every team can play what if. but they aren't a desperately bad offense like a few are making them out.

Part of the concern is based on September, where the Brewers averaged only 4.27 runs per game, 4th worst in the NL and lower than any of the other NL playoff teams.

The Brewers run differential for the month was just +4. The second lowest of the playoff teams is the Braves at +41.

Hopefully the studies that say that late momentum (or lack of same) does not carry over to the playoffs will play out. Maybe in this case the fact that the Brewers played with a much bigger cushion than the other teams is the cause for the mediocre month.

Yankees lose, Blue Jays and Red Sox win as the Al wild card races go down to the wire.

Also, the Rays clinch having a better record than the Brewers.

Tough loss for the Mariners. Had first and third no outs in the 7th as well as a leadoff double in the 9th but couldn't score and lose 2-1. Would love to see either the Mariners or Blue Jays eliminate one of the Red Sox/Yankees but facing an uphill battle

Looks now like Kershaw may be done for the playoffs.

The Cardinals Devil Magic is chipping away at all of their potential playoff opponents.

The Red Sox are gonna drop one to the Nats. I feel it.

Either that, or the Yanks are getting swept by the Rays.

I think the door's gonna be open for Seattle/Toronto if they win the next two.

The Rays are determined to make things interesting. 12-2 over the Yankees in the 7th.

Jays up 6-1 in the third.

The door is open for all four teams to still be in the running going into tomorrow.

Do we know which teams are which letter in the theoretical 4 way tie? In this scenario, I wonder if MLB is hoping yanks play the Sox just so 1 of them us guaranteed to be in the wild card game or if they are still hoping for a yanks-Sox actual wild card game.

I'm personally rooting for a jays-Ms wild card game.

What I have seen is the teams would select their spots in this order:

1. Red Sox

2. Jays

3. Yankees

4. Mariners.

That would probably result in Mariners @ Red Sox and Yankees@Jays unless the Yankees decide they would rather play the Red Sox.

Some good games going on now.

Padres-Giants 2-2 in the 9th as the Giants try to clinch

Red Sox-Nats 1-1 in the 9th as the Sox try to tie the Yankees in the WC race.

Red Sox win and will host the Wild Card game if they win tomorrow.

The M's and Angels have been fun tonight. If everything holds, tomorrow is going to be interesting for those AL wildcard slots.

I wish the Brewers were playing more like the Rays, another team with nothing to play for.

I will now take my punishment from fellow posters.

At least you didn’t mention the Cardinals. I swear some posters love talking about the Cardinals more than Cardinals fans themselves.

Well, we are most likely losing to Atlanta in the first round and have no shot against LA or STL so that seems like a bit of a stretch.

Red Sox have come back to tie it in Washington. Was 5-1 Nats.

Yanks and Rays scoreless in the ninth.

Jay's will win. M's will lose.

Really hope one of Tampa/Washington can pull it out late to give us a tiebreaker tomorrow.

Boston and New York both win. Lame.

I was at the Mariners game today, it was rough to lose that one after coming so close. Kind of felt like what would have happened if the Brewers had lost game 162 in 2008 and missed the postseason. Although in reality the Mariners are not even there yet, it’s more like if the 2006 Brewers had made a run before their competitive window was open.

For me it was good perspective…who am I to complain about the Brewers winning a division title and going on cruise control??? There’s a huge, huge gap between the Mariners and a true title contender like the Brewers. Time to take a couple days off from baseball and get ready to lean into this run on Friday.
