Peralta definitely not a lock to be that third pitcher in the playoffs. He’s going to have to have a couple of good outings the rest of the way here

Peralta's a complete lock for the third pitcher in the playoffs. He's basically doing his rehab assignment in MLB. He'll be completely fine.

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything that worries me. Should have been out of that inning a long time ago.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Could've been worse I guess

Absolutely. Things happen in baseball games. Sometimes you scuffle early and don't have the stuff to put a team away. That inning could have been MUCH worse. Reset. And, try to improve. The chances have been there. You hope they continue.

Not sure I like your positivity. Haha

Peralta not a lock? I get that it’s a IGT but jeez, that’s an overreaction.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Peralta has given up 1 HR to a white hott Harper and nothing else beyond 207feet. Walked the same hott Harper his only walk. 3Ks. Fairly unlucky outing for him through 3. Watch him go 3 scoreless here as we are likely to do now for Gibson letting him off the hook

I don’t think Peralta is a lock either considering how he has pitched coming back from injury; that has to at least be a concern; even more, the way Houser and Lauer have pitched puts Freddy’s Game 3 in doubt, especially being four weeks out.

It's his second start, right... ?!

You think that’s true if he goes four innings 4 earned runs every start the rest of the way. There are some other pitchers pitching their rear ends off. At some point he’s going to have to string some 6-7 inning good outings together

I’m with you in saying that it’s at least an 80 percent chance. But I wouldn’t call it a lock.

If the rest of the month goes like this

Yes. And, I think we all know, even tho he was missing Location, he still leads the League in 2 strike punchouts and he should have left this game 3-1 Lead (most likely) and completed 4. He needs some time and I think it's fair to say he deserves it, frankly.

It's his first two starts back, and didn't rehab in the minors. He's still winding back up....

So are you saying he never has to show any kind of form until the playoffs start

I think your wrong

I’m not saying he won’t. But he did just have a dl stint with a sore shoulder

I would like to see a couple of nice outings before October.

I'd bet there's about a 0.5% chance he goes 4/4 "every start the rest of the way".
