Bears trade Mack to Chargers. 2023 2nd round and 2023 6th round picks in return.

And the Bears get fleeced again.

Not really. A 2nd round picks and a 6th is pretty good value wise. Also should give the Bears some more cap room next year.

Bears know they won't win next year. They need to clear their cap as much as possible, and add young talent. Mack is still a good player, but he's a luxury for a team in their position. Whatever they got draft pick wise was a bonus.

This can be stated with just about the same level of confidence as knowing death and taxes are unavoidable.

For what they gave up to acquire Mack and paid him to be a Bear that ultimately resulted in 0 playoff wins, yes they got fleeced. But then again the Raiders did very little with the draft picks acquired for Mack and invested the contract savings poorly on other players/free agents....kind of the tale of a great player getting shuffled between crummy organizations while he set the market for OLBers financially.

If you’re the new Bears GM, do you really want to pay nearly $30 million per year to a non-QB in their 30s? I think the Chargers landed a great player for essentially just a second round pick, but they also accepted some financial risk in bringing Mack aboard. In any case, I’m glad he’s out of the NFC North.

Bears could replace him with a guy like Zadarius Smith and get just as much production plus budget savings, so seems like the trade is a win for them.

The rumor of Joe Buck going to ESPN for Monday Night Football - and thus only being subjected to him once a week, at most - is simply too good to be true. It will also make me an even bigger fan of the Manning-cast on ESPN 2.

NFL can still suspend him. Guessing any trade happens after they figure what they want to do. Roethlisberger was suspended and he was never charged.

Right but I believe teams were reluctant to trade for him because of the possibility of him being charged. Now he will probably get like 3-4 game suspension if he even gets suspended.

For me, this is the best thing that could happen. Every Monday night during the season, my fantasy football league members get together at someone’s house (each member hosts once, some chose a second time) and we watch the game, talk, and commiserate. But we rarely, if ever, listen to the announcers because we’re having such good conversations (and eating food, at provided by the host.). I think the last time we paid attention to what the announcers had to say was when Dennis Miller was I. the booth.

Buck to MNF? Hooray!!!!

He's getting what 6 games max? Or whatever comes up on the wheel of suspensions. That's not going to stop a team from unloading 1st round picks for him.

What are you basing that on? Big Ben? That was one accusation. This is like 20. He may end up getting 4 games who knows? But I'd be willing to bet a team on the cusp of the playoffs would want to know just how many he's gonna be able to play next year. I don't think Carolina wants to trot out Sam Darnold for 1/3 of the season. I'm sure the league gives assurances to teams about a max suspension just so they can go about their business so yeah there will probably be a trade before any suspension is handed out.

Basing it on the precedence that is there no consistency to how long guys get suspended for stuff. My point was whatever the length of his suspension is (if he even gets one) it will not be long enough that teams will shy away from paying up to get him.

He must have immediately went to wearing pajamas all day long in retirement and Gizelle made him go back to work.

LOL! I wouldn't be surprised if some of his idiosyncrasies are easy to ignore when you have a countdown to training camp.  When you don't have that "vacation" to look forward to then even the smallest things can seem like the tipping point.

No blue check mark, that’s a troll account.

Is it though?  Some of the tweets look accurate from that account.  If it is a troll account they are really good at it.

Epsn currently talking about Watson being expected to meet with the panthers and saints in the next 48 hours, so I'm doubting there's any actual smoke about a trade to the browns, otherwise they would have mentioned it.
