Also the only Twitter account I see reporting a Golladay deal is a fake bait account.

This guy isnt fake….. He's a Giants insider.

Good because it doesn't make sense. I mean if he was a free agent sure but not with his current contract.

Would have been a wild amount of draft picks had the Packers done the Denver deal and made this Adams trade. Oh well.

Now who will Rodgers throw all his passes to in the playoffs? /blue Hmmm... missing our sarcasm font

It is a double edged sword.  Seems like a decent return for Adams, but hate to see him go.  A friend of mine and I had a debate on whether Adams was only because of Rodgers or actually one of the best WRs in the league.

I do wonder if Rodgers might actually be better spreading the ball.  He certainly has some issues with being stuck on Adams. But we also need people that get open too...

And I'm hearing $10M/year for MVS?  I'd pass.  Maybe he earns it and becomes really dangerous, but more likely he catches 30 balls and misses 6 games.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

<p style="color:blue;">I'm curious if this works? We don't have a preview function BUT this is the HTML code for 'Blue Font'</p>

OR do we use the 'Code' <> icon above to embed into the post? I shall try below:

<p style="color:blue;">This might also work. We shall see.</p>

LOL, I see none of these work. We soldier on.

I have to agree with Andy here. It's incredible the amount of adversity Gutekunst has dealt with in his short tenure as a GM. I tip my cap to the magic he's helped co-create given the circumstances. The man is very good at his job.

There’d be big cost, but Metcalf makes too much sense. He’s about to cash in and probably doesn’t make sense for Seattle to waste him this year during their rebuild only to have him hit free agency next. Cheap because he’s on his rookie contract. Young, productive, and ultra fast. He’d be the swing for the fences addition.

Once again, the great Tony Pauline struck the Bullseye:

Davante Adams sign-and-trade a possibility?

Davante Adams is one of the hottest names here at the NFL Combine, as the star receiver could hit the free agent market. Here’s the latest on what I’m hearing on the Adams front.

Last week I reported the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars are two teams that will likely be in the market to acquire Adams if he makes it to free agency. I can confirm this is the case, as both are among the half dozen teams who will make a push for the receiver if, in fact, he hits the open market.

The latest rumor that is making the rounds is a tag and trade scenario where the franchise tag is applied to Adams and then he is traded to the Raiders. Las Vegas would then sign Adams to the large deal he desires.

The man is Legendary when it comes to the NFL draft and he always gives these Combine nuggets and rumors from his decades of scouting and working the NFL circles.

First straight up enough? Probably not?

This is what I'm most curious about. The dropoff in QB play from Rodgers to Carr is immense. Of course, I saw on Twitter the "but Carr was Adams's college QB!". Cool. Carr also needs an O line and a scheme to help him attempt to get the ball to Adams. I don't think that Adams will have as good of a season at any point in Vegas as he did in GB.

I suspect it would take more than a 1st round pick to land Metcalf. Probably similar return as Adams. In fact, between Adams and Metcalf, who would you rather have right now if cost didn't matter and also disregarding the Rodgers/Adams familiarity aspect? I take Metcalf and I don't think it's close. 24, ideal size, sub 4.4 40 speed. You have to wonder if the Raiders asked on him.

I won’t be surprised if Adams puts up big numbers, the Raiders willing to sling it around at times.  He’s going to be no where near as efficient, and have no where near the team success he’s enjoyed in GB.

Obviously the smart move is to wait to see what they do with the 20MM of cap space and the 2 picks. I'm OK with this. I would imagine that they can bring back Douglass if they want and get a FA WR who will not be a large dropoff from Adams.

Having paged through the thread since the trade, the name I haven’t seen discussed is Robert Tonyan.  He’s a free agent, coming off a torn ACL, but is a guy who has Rodgers’ trust, at a position which isn’t an easy upgrade in this year’s draft.

I would be excited to see a guy with DK Metcalf’s top end speed catching bombs from #12.  Regardless of who the Packers get to replace Adams, they need to upgrade the speed of the receiver room.

I'd be ok with resigning Tonyan, but the issue becomes how soon he can get back on the field with that knee injury - might look hard at signing Hooper, who was recently designated as a post June 1 cut by the Browns....and wouldn't mind Tretter at guard, either now that there's a bit more cap space to work with.

Imagine an extended Jaire would free up more room as well.  Interesting to see how they bolster the receiving corps with quite a few solid options that appear to be there for the taking.

Yeah, a 2022-friendly Jaire extension suddenly gives the Packers some legit maneuverability. They'd basically be able to bring back all the contributors from the 21 team beyond Adams and actually supplement positions of need with a bunch of picks and a couple of FAs.

It's not typical for a team routinely at the top of the league standings to hold 4 top-60 picks (or 8 in the top 175, 11 total)....Once the dust settles on their initial free agency run that probably adds to WR and other positions of need currently on the roster, I'd be hoping Gute holds those top 60 picks to get 4 bites of the apple in the first two rounds.  I'd be fine with them using some of the other 6 picks they have in the mid-late rounds to move up if a guy they covet slips a bit, but when the dust settles on this year's draft I'm hoping the Packers picked 4+ players in the top 60.

I agree with all of this. Sign Rasul/Tonyan if you want, then dip into the decent FA depth on the d-line and grab a guy like Landry at WR, then pick 4 guys in the top 60. Use a 4th to move up in the 2nd if you feel it necessary. Feels like they have rare opportunity to both reload for this year AND use their picks to build for the coming years, which doesn't happen often with consistent playoff teams.

Dare I say that with more picks at their disposal they could take another flier on a QB? (mostly blue)

If they do, who is more triggered, Rodgers or Love? Or the fans?

That would be such a 3D chess move.  Gute could motivate his QB1 *and* his QB2 with one fell swoop! /s
