The Braves are going to getting EVERY good young player to sign.

They've got a young AS Team, now equipped with 23 year old ace who Spencer Strider...who comes with a FB that sits in the upper 90s. Nearly 14K/9 and a 1.83 FIP.

Also signed
RF-Acuna Jr 8/100+2 Options @17M per coming off ROY season signed from ages 21-30(2028)
2B-Albies-7/35 + 2 options at 7M coming off a 4.1 WAR season at 21 team control until age 30(2027)
CF-Harris 8/72 +2 option years @15/20M locking him up from his age 22 to age 31 seasons(2032)
1B-Olson-8/168+1 Option year@ 20 coming off 5.8 WAR season, ages 28-36(2030)
3B-Riley-10/210+1 option @20 coming off 6.1 WAR and in the midst of 6.3 WAR season26-36 (2023)
SP-Strider 6/75+1 option @22 off a 3.8 WAR locking him up from age 24-30(2029)

Just accumulating this type of young talent is...impressive in and of itself, but locking them all up to the respective deals they have, adding team control before any of them get to that point where you know the last couple years of a deal are going to be those garbage years...they are building a team to compete with Cohen's bottomless wallet in the NL East.

Also, 9 of their top 10 prospects are pitchers. So having 5 of their 9 roster spots filled up with All-Star caliber players, a young ace, a top 50 prospect at SS currently up(incidentally, the best position player who's due to become a FA this year) and then almost all pitchers.

Sure hope a couple of our current young prospects both justify AND are willing to sign some deals similar to these.
Also, glad we got Ashby and Peralta locked up for a while yet.

They are going to have many bites of the apple.

Marshfield native and UWM alum was nominated for two gold glove awards, RF and Utility.

He split major time between RF, CF, and C! Not every day a guy plays C and CF…not to mention to gold glove quality.

Edwin Diaz just signed a $102M contract with the Mets. Cohen giving the finger to his fellow owners.

5 years — $102M.

Hader no doubt taking notice……

Yup. Obviously Edwin was better in 2022, but their career numbers are pretty close aside from IP (Diaz debuted a year earlier) and WPA…

Diaz: 399 IP | 72 ERA- | 60 FIP- | 9.9 rWAR | 12.3 fWAR | +10.59 WPA

Hader: 332 IP | 65 ERA- | 64 FIP- | 10.2 rWAR | 9.6 fWAR | +14.09 WPA

Gotta figure Josh beats it pretty easily if he comes out and has another year in the vicinity of his 2021 campaign - 58 IP | 29 ERA- | 39 FIP- | 3.4 rWAR | 2.6 fWAR | +5.05 WPA.

Hopefully you like these more than I do @Brock Beauchamp. I always thought the Twins had great uniforms. Don't understand why they thought such a dramatic change was necessary. If anything, they should've gone back to pinstripes full-time.

I really like them, a very nice blend of modern and retro.  I absolutely love the Twin Cities jersey, so very clean, if I were a Twins fan I'd be snapping one of those up.  The only thing I'm not a fan of is the new M logo on the hats, I'd have brought back the M from the 80s/90s uniforms.

I like everything except the M hat, which is just meh to me. The Twins badly needed a redesign, their overall brand was sloppy and all over the place. This unifies their look a lot more.

Still not as good as the Brewers, though, who have some of the best iconography in sports.

Does this kill the TC logo jersey? Or is that likely just to be another alt jersey. I always liked that one just because it came off so classic like a Yankees jersey does.

It’s a pretty light and bland refresh. They kept the cursive in two of the jerseys which comes off really outdated these days and somehow they kept the little line underneath? Thankfully the Brewers punted that concept into outer space when they did their jerseys.

The underline makes sense with the Twins because what’s underlined is “win”. It’s a fun little touch.

Yeah, the TC jerseys are gone. I don’t have a strong opinion about that. I like the TC a lot but am fine with it being only on the hat.

Count me in the camp that really likes this Twins refresh.  I think they did a good job combining the past & putting a slightly different twist on them.  Big fan of the white & navy jerseys.  The gray are simple, but I like the pinstripe aspect.  I like the script of the Twin Cities jersey but wish somewhere either on the jersey and/or hat there was a slight touch of red vs. just white & navy.  All in all, big fan!

Lol Dodgers. Welcome to the real world, even if it's only for a year. Honestly, think there is a non-zero chance they could miss the postseason entirely this season.

Nice deal for the Marlins.

I really wonder if there has been any conversation between the Dodgers and Brewers about Adames.  Seems like a perfect fit considering their farm talent.

Reads like Luz is going to SS and Rojas as a backup. So if/when Luz doesn't carry defensively at SS full time then serious talks could happen with LA for Adames.

I hope they don't trade Adames in-season, unless they're completely out of the playoff race.
