I thought Cousins looked fine. 14.6 K/9, 3.33 xERA, 3.19 xFIP even though the bottomline results were middling. We definitely have the luxury of letting him get fully healed up though.

Before today's game starts I just want to celebrate my hope that the demons of the Weekend 10 Pack from last season have been exorcised. I have never enjoyed a Brewers-Cubs game more simply because the Cubs fans had virtually nothing to cheer about all night.

One of the funniest moments of the night came in the first inning as the Cubs kicked and threw the ball around (I'm still not sure why Steele didn't get an error on Renfroe's squib) and the Brewers took advantage to score 3 runs. One of the people in the group of Cubs fans sitting right behind me said "The Cubs look like s**t". I had to think to myself "well, they are the Cubs".

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Unlucky. 113 MPH off the bat. Yelich hitting the ball really well last few games.

Yea, that ball was smoked. Too bad.

Ugh, Renfroe let Stroman get away with a belt high 85-mph hanging slider right over the center of the plate in that at bat. If he had that one back I have a feeling this would be a 2-0 game.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Yes.

I'll always wonder if he would have finished the one last year (not saying it was the wrong call to remove him though)

Cain may not hit a ball that hard all year

I hope Tyrone gets the majority of starts in CF with Cain as the late inning defensive addition  - Taylor over to LF & Yelich off the field

Yeah. I think if he was around 100 pitches even Counsell would have let him try. But he was at like 110 or something and it was late in the season with that big division lead. They were clearly thinking about the playoffs with that one.

Yeah he was at 115 which was a career high. He was even at 103 after 7 and had to lobby to Counsell to even get the 8th.

I think I hate wisdom more than yadier Molina at this point.  At least wisdom looks like he’ll be out of baseball when the cubs get a real team.
