I remember seasons that were very similar: 2020 and 2021.  Both were wasted years where the offense wasn’t improved enough for the team to have a realistic chance of making it deep into the postseason. But we had those bites!

I read this as 2000 and 2001 and was very confused.

I am a true Brewer Fanatic

That said … I hate watching & following this 2022 team

I don’t ever remember feeling as much disgust & disappointment with a team as I do this one

Every day - I am anxious & hope they don’t do something stupid

When they win, I feel relief rather than joy

Most days - win or lose - it is unbearable to watch

I can’t wait for this season to end

I hope they make wholesale changes - trade as many players as possible & restock with young talent

I would rather lose for a few years than endure another season like this one

I seldom get angry enough to curse - but all it takes is watching this team play poorly for a few innings

I can’t be the only one who feels this way

The only thing more aggravating than their poor play is the eternal optimists on the board who suggest “hang in there - it’s a long season - we will be fine”

This year sure hasn’t been much fun to watch. If the game isn’t boring it’s super frustrating watching them drop game to teams not even trying to compete.

I’d respect this take more after a big win and not in the middle of a Monday night Pirates game when we gave up five straight, down 5-3.  If they go on a 7 game winning streak, my guess is that you feel differently… maybe not. Disappointing, I agree, but ehhh, 2014 and 2017 were worse feels.

This team, on paper, is more talented than 2014, right?

The expectations are much higher in 2022 than ‘14 or ‘17.

Those were teams that were expected to be crappy and put up a respectable showing.

The ‘22 Brewers were expected to compete and they’re in last place amongst the NL teams trying to win.

Since the all-star break Burnes

4.89 ERA

1.16 WHIP

Seems like his cutter hasn't been moving horizontally like it used to.

I'm going to type this at the risk of seriously offending the eternal optimists that post in the game threads:

We can't rely on our strengths to win (pitching) and our average squad of bats can't get us there, so what do we have?

Tired of hearing the Padres have the hardest schedule, so we have a shot crap too.  We can't and don't take care of business when given opportunities, what makes anyone think this team, as it sits will suddenly wake up?

If they came back and won this game tonight, I'd feel the same.

This team is toast.

If the Brewers had to play a must win game right now I am not sure who I would want to start it.

It would not be Burnes though.

Even yesterday’s win was not very fun … having to use Williams to close out the game … there aren’t enough games like the 7-0 win on Sat … almost every game is full of drama … I’m not a fan of the new playoff structure - it keeps bad teams like Milwaukee in the hunt when they could have accepted their plight & called up several prospects to acclimate to the big leagues in preparation for another run next year

I understand the appearance of my earlier post - frustration spilling over again … even on a Monday

Was hoping we might somehow go on a run & win several games against these horrible opponents - but it’s clear to me that we are as bad as they are & the results prove that fear

2017???!!! 2017 was awesome. 2017 was supposed to still be a rebuilding Brewers team that somehow came out of the woodwork to compete and give us competitive exciting baseball and a pennant race all the way to the end. 2017 was when we got excited about the future again.

How anyone can say that 2017 *felt worse* than 2022 is absolutely mind boggling.

Hiura is looking lost at the plate again.

In one day out the next will do that to a guy. He plays better with regular ab. We have a blood contract with Cutch though.

I doubt he would be playing any better with more plate appearances.  Hiura is what he is.  Someone who will get hot for awhile and then will be absolutely ice cold for long stretches.  This looks like it is the beginning of a long cold streak for Hiura.

One of the most frustrating games of the season and it’s not even over yet. The story of this season will be struggling to beat the really crappy teams in our division. I’m just so dang frustrated.

As much as I would like to blame the offense it seems like when we lose to the Cubs and Reds and Pirates it's the pitching staff giving up way to many runs.
