Saw that today, and the two teams start a series in Chicago today.

If we can't take at least two of three from this dysfunctional organization this weekend, I'll have to rethink my "We will still win the division" remark.

Other than the first few years with Ozzie that’s how it is on the south side with Jerry Manuel, Ventura, LaRussa: less wins with more talent

Tim Anderson will likely be banned for the series unless he wins an appeal (given he started the fight, quite clearly swinging first I'd imagine this is unlikely). That does help some

So what managers aren't coming back next year?

I would say there's a good chance Grifol gets canned if for nothing else than for being the fall man for that disaster in Chicago. I think Boone's toddler tamper tantrums every time he doesn't like a ball/strike call have worn themselves out and he's gone unless they make a deep playoff run. I could see the Angels getting rid of Nevin if they don't make the playoffs. They'll probably be blowing that whole organization anyway.

Agree on Grifol. Boone's fate likely depends on Cashman.

Nevin is on a one-year deal so they don't even have to fire him. Although given the stupidity of the Angels they might bring him back anyway, I thought for sure he was going to get let go at the end of 2022.

Marmol will likely take the fall for the Cards being terrible.

The Padres might dump Melvin for underachieving.

And of course Counsell might retire.

Showalter is surely going to gone as well.

I don't see how the whole works in San Diego doesn't get canned as soon as they're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

If Cashman is let go I think Stearns ends up with the Yankees and not the Mets.  The Mets may be Stearns childhood favorite team but the Yankees are a bigger name than the Mets.  If the Yankees came calling it is going to be the Yankees who get Stearns and not the Mets regardless of who Stearns is a fan of and no matter how much money is thrown at him.

Preller has got some magic fairy dust just like Ken Williams in Chicago. The Padres haven’t won much at all the entire time he was there, been through a handful of managers yet he survives year after year.

You've given this opinion several times and its 100% wrong. Not only did Stearns grow up a Mets fan with Kevin Elster lol being his favorite player but in case you didn't know Cohen is twice as wealthy as any other owner and money will be no object. Stearns is 100% going to the Mets and he has already agreed to take the job.

The owner continues to back up Preller which is ridiculous but Melvin is definitely going to take the fall.

Can you prove that Stearns has already agreed to take the job and no your wild conspiracies don't count.

Its not public knowledge but he has agreed to take the job. Like everything Cohen does it was under the table but its been agreed to for quite some time.

I've been told this by more than one person I trust and I will leave it at that.

Props to Lorenzen for his CG no-no last night....the beauty of being a baseball fan is there are so many games nightly that any given night has a decent chance of watching something special happen on the diamond.

Pretty crazy that the defending World Series Champs, who gave Jose Abreu 3/58.5 in FA, have to pick up our scraps for 1B, all while trying to catch the Rangers for the division lead.

It’s almost like there aren’t sixty guys out there who can just roll out of bed and put up a 110 wRC+ no big deal to play 1B/DH for every team.

What in the world happened to the Diamondbacks? At one point, they looked like one the better teams in the NL and now find themselves two games under .500 and barely in wildcard contention. Is it injuries? Youth just catching up to them?
