You're right in a sense, but their rotation is looking full right now with Strider, Fried, Morton, Sale, Elder, AJSS.

Lessens their desperation level to part with the guys it'd take to get Burnes.

I think it's more a sign they were never desperate enough to give up what was necessary to get Burnes.

Robbie Ray going to the Giants. Don't know if this will have any effect on their potential interest in Burnes. I can't imagine we would've been going after Haniger or DeSclafani, so they still have prospects they could trade.

I was more interested in the Luke Raley for Caballero M's/Ray's trade. I have thought Luke Raley would have been a great 1B option for us. He has really good power and could play OF as well. He doesn't walk a ton but did get hit by a lot of pitches. Caballero is probably just a high end utility guy with good defense.

I think the Giants did well to get Ray, obviously he has injury issues and a big deal for 3 years. However he should do well in SF if healthy. Haniger and Desclafani are really much.

No question I'd love to have Powell announcing games again. Ueck has always been good at making his partners look good, but they way both of them worked together in the booth really was a treat for many years.

Jim Powell is how I found Brewerfan many, many years ago.  

Would love to have him back in the booth after Uecker hangs ‘em up and figured there was no way he’d leave his hometown team… maybe there is a (very small) chance in the future we’ll get to hear him again.
