Gallen is far better than he has fared so far this year.  I think some are not giving this kid enough credit.

He has been tough on the Brewers in the past.

By ERA of the starters, I'll predict 7.59 - 0! 😉

Following this line of reasoning I’m predicting a 9.64-3.86 loss tomorrow. 🤪

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

To be clear... I don't claim to be accurate! 😄

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I got the spirit of the comment.

I do think that anyone looking at Gallen’s outings this year to create an expectation for tonight is making a mistake, just like anyone reading too much Burnes’ two outings. He is tough, and Kelly is no picnic either.

Anyone know why Winker is not starting?  I see Voit is DH, instead, against the righty Gallen.image.png.0773d790d1dc7f7b835d7d201e522aca.png

Big reverse splits for Gallen it says here:  image.png.8a07b4fa04558919f0a63801e351bef8.png

Excited to head out to the game shortly, to see the kids up close and personal. And Miley!

Was down there for spring training for the first time. Arizona is pretty great.

That sounds like outsmarting yourself.

I’d rather go with the better hitter, especially one who isn’t afraid to take a pitch the opposite way.

Maybe Counsell wants to get Voit in a game and sees this as the best (least bad?) option with a string of righties coming up the next a few days.

Voit has a career 129 wRC+ against RHP and had a 116 wRC+ against RHP last year. Counsell probably just liked the matchup better for Voit.

This game feels like it might set the tone for the remainder of this difficult 3-city western roadtrip. Hopefully the boys are ready to go after the highs of this past home-stand...

Freaking 90+ today after it being in the 60's and 70's for a few weeks is weird even for here.

Sucks that the games are on a weekday for me as I can't get off to see the games ugggg.

What is Winker’s career wRC+ against RHP.

136. That said, we're 10 games into a 162 game season. Not every lineup is going to be about optimizing matchups, sometimes it's about getting a guy with only 13 at bats some more plate appearances.

Do we have a stat on how often stats are predictive?

Probably

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
