Let’s go!!. Get ready for 100+MPH heaters. And that’s not even his best pitch…

If he can consistently control it, you’re looking at the next Hader/Williams. Either way, much better than cycling through the Tyson Millers and Thomas Pannones of the world.

I cringe when I see the words “If he can consistently control it”. That’s always the key isn’t it?

As shown last night, if a pitcher can’t get the ball over the plate, even with a 5 run lead, he isn’t going to help except to eat an inning in lost cause situations.

Hopefully Uribe can help fill the hole in the bottom part of the bullpen.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

This could be an exciting move. I'll also temper expectations. But, if he has got some of the control demons under control - see what I did there - lol - he could be a huge pen piece! Color me excited.

This is great news.  I also like Andrews long term.  I know he struggled that first outing but it’s hard to say how much of that was nerves.

The problem is rookies need to get acclimated.   You see it at every level.  A guy goes from A+ to AA, same thing.

We have had a high number of rookies get time up here this year and the more acclimation we can get done now while staying in the race, the better off we will be in future years.

Considering the current string of "OMG why haven't they called this guy up!?!?!" guys that have sucked, I'll temper my expectations.

Because he hasn’t pitched much because of injuries…….they said it in spring training……he needs to pitch.

throw strikes and he will be great……

At the very least it is interesting to have a guy throwing 100+. After one outing he will likely be the hardest throwing Brewers ever.

Sure, but if it were that easy then they wouldn't have had a parade of pitchers filling out the last two spots of the bullpen.  He certainly has potential and is more exciting than bringing up Miller or Pannone, but he still has to actually do the job.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Did he not get a suspension from his actions in Nashville's brawl the other day?

Another great reason to bring him up now...

I didn't get a chance to watch his debut so I don't know how he looked but his stat line was nothing eye popping. I will say though that I'm over the whole idea of being intrigued by guys who throw really hard and I think MLB batters are too. I understand why it's a good thing and you'd rather have someone who throws upper 90's than lower 90's but I don't think it's that much of a game changing weapon anymore. Look at Jordan Hicks. He can reach 100 and has nasty movement yet his strikeout rate is pretty pedestrian for a guy who throws as hard as he does. There were two guys brought up by other teams this year that throw well over 100, one by the Angels and one by the Braves, neither did anything spectacular in the bigs and one is injured and the other's back in the minors. Which highlights the other problem is that most guys who routinely touch 100 are also routinely injured.

His first inning was phenomenal, 2 ks and a weak pop up. The 2nd inning though was a struggle, there was distractions with the phantom balk & CC getting thrown out. He definitely wasn't as sharp either but you could absolutely see the stuff in the 1st inning

I don't even know if I'd call his second inning a "struggle". 2 IF singles and the run only scored because of the phantom balk.

Overall, it was a very promising debut.

Velo was down a tick the second inning. I think at 1 inning stints he’s going to be devastating with his 101/plus plus SL combo.

Tough crowd. 70 grade fastball, 70 grade slider, what’s not to like. And for MLB debut, pretty hard to be eye popping as a RP, really just looking for him not to get lit up.

The thing that separates Uribe from those other guys is that his 100+ mph fastball isn't even his best pitch. That would be his slider. He uses the fastball as more of a secondary/set-up pitch a la. Devin Williams. And the fastball has a lot of movement, whereas many flamethrowers have fastballs that are straight as an arrow.

Sure, he can pitch... but can he play shortstop?
