Matt, you’re missing the obvious choice. Winker can’t hit (OBP, OPS and BA), can’t hit for power (SLG), he can’t run, he can’t throw, and he can’t play the field. Thankfully we have Arnold making these decisions!

Long, long leash…. No one would complain about this if it happened….in June.

I would much rather have one extra year of Wiemer than have him right now when he can't hit.

Wiemer is a great extension candidate with his smaller signing bonus. Keep him up and win baseball games.

I think the wiemer move down to AAA for a few weeks happens post trade deadline if they acquire a bat...then you bring him back up for September when rosters expand a little

Pumped for Frelick...hopeful that Hiura isn't far behind

Perkins has been one of the best defensive OFs in baseball this season. You can't send him down.

Wiemer is a much better defensive center, AND a better hitter than Perkins. Unbelievable.

Interesting that now that the Brewers took their 1st long look at Wiemer in CF, they've decided to go with Wiemer in CF and Frelick in RF.

I advocated for a longer leash. I thought there was no way he could be this bad...but he really just is. 565 OPS. It's not like he's Joey Gallo and hitting under .200.

I can’t believe how much hate there is here for Wiemer and his rookie season of 1.4 WAR so far and 84 wRC+. Go look at Turang stats if you want to see what a garbage hitting rookie looks like. Wiemer remains one of our most promising young players, even if he’s had some hot and cold stretches.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

How much hate? I think there is very little here. Sending him down is not a huge negative to him long term. Short term, it could actually help him at the plate. On the other hand To the positive, he needs to play against lefties with an .897 OPS

I can't believe you're seeing "hate" for Wiemer.

Pretty sure there's more appreciation for Wiemer...and a FEW people who've suggested that he could use a couple weeks in AAA but MAINLY because of his service time. That's not hate, that's just...common sense. You want a 7th year out of him.

And he probably shouldn't have started this year in the big leagues.

I wouldn't send him down because I think we need him vs lefties, but I don't think those who are suggesting maybe we do are "hating" on him.

He's been great this past week. Hopefully, he runs with this. He will surprise you with his glove and arm, to boot. Very underrated arm.

Bump. When you've watched this young man play in Biloxi and Nashville for over a year, you know: his defense is elite. Undersold across the board with his glove and arm. Happy he proved it, again, tonight! What a debut.

Looks like the thumb is finally healthy, too. Back to spraying the ball all over the field.

That’s what making ten million dollars a season on a small market club  gets you, almost endless chances.

Best overall comfort level for both at this time, with Wiemer spending so much time in CF. It wouldn't shock me if they're flipped in '24.

I don't know when it happens, but it's gonna be a lot of fun when the OF has Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell and Chourio playing out there. Yelich has been just better at everything this year athletically. Faster, throwing harder, hitting the ball harder...but he's just not the defender those guys are. I'd love to see him try 1B. I guess otherwise...our DH becomes a rotation with him and and then mixing and matching those guys?

I think there are some gloves touched by King Midas in the future of these young guys.

Once things come to fruition, Yelichs' subpar arm is probably going to be a factor. You never know what a FO is thinking (or Yelich, for that matter) but a move to 1B makes sense on paper.

Hopefully he's playing 1B sooner than later

I'm counting on Mitchell for nothing yet hoping for the best.

Having said that, a Frelick/Chourio/Wiemer outfield seems like it'll be pretty good in a year or a little more.
