Interestingly the Reds schedule to finish the year is really nice for them, seems to have finished series against nearly every tough team. The Cubs series will be big for both clubs but the Brewers have an easier stretch to start August then back to the grind again

cj cron would look awesome at 1b

I know others aren't high on him but I think he's a solid, middling pickup. Exactly the kind of thing the Brewers could use against LHP down the stretch. It's not flashy but it's also not expensive.

market is a little dry for good 1b/dh. cron is a rental, andrew vaughn from cws wouldnt be bad but he's young so it would take more to get him

Well that was nice and efficient Freddy... Liked the use of the changeup for him, even high like the one to EDLC,  the assumption was fastball but that opposite movement is so handy for him

They definitely won't be favorites either way.

Explain to me why not.    Their pitching isn’t as bad as people make it out to be.   Their hitting is good.     They lost five games in a row to us and are only .5 game back.    They are done playing us

I would give them a slight edge.    Our hitting is as bad as it’s made out to be.    Our bullpen is ridiculously good.    Will it stay that way.   I hope so

the reds just need to get away from us.   We have their number.     They seem to do well against everyone else

if they win today and nose in front that’s not good

I think that was on Weimer. That ball was a double all the way, and he didn't read the slice. Tough task, granted, but he'd have been out by a ways at home.

The contact play is bad, but Contreras has to elevate that if he's swinging first pitch.

This is the most frustrating bunch in baseball.  How many damn times have we've been thrown out at home like that???

Not anywhere near as many times as the hitter can’t get the ball out of the infield.

If only they hadn’t used the contact play Adames could have had two men in scoring position when he struck out.

bad baserunning in any event, as was the contact play with the infield in.  Of course, we probably couldn't have gotten it past the infield anyway.

This team reminds me of my youngest daughter's softball teams: solid pitching, good defense, but only about 3 players who could actually hit. It's just not enough at crunch time.

Hopefully today marks the day Freddy finds himself again for the rest of the season.

He pitched great against the reds last week
