50 more would put him at like 120. That's not realistic.

He's not good at taking the easy ones like the one in 1st inning. First pitch pop up is not acceptable. Like I said my opinion but he should be 6 in a good lineup.

The last guy in every team’s bullpen is typically a disaster. Most teams have a couple two tree back there.

That’s why Counsell has limited Chafin’s innings to only 11 since being acquired, which ranks 8th in the bullpen over that stretch.

Pitching your worst reliever the fewest amount of innings and predominantly in low leverage situations seems like a sound strategy.

Except, Chafin was used in the opposite of low leverage not too long ago, with disasterous results.

Because we were down to the 8th man in the pen due to the offense not being able to score.

Refresh my memory, who came in and pitched after Chafin?  Must have been our 9th man?

Counsell said that Milner was only an emergency/last ditch option due to his usage.. Chafin was ahead of him that day. Hope that helps.

There was no circumstance that Chafin should have been used in that situation, none.  Doesn't matter if Milner was an emergency option, in fact, it was an emergency, so Milner should have been used.

Everyone knew it, literally everyone, that using Chafin in that situation was a giant mistake.

Hope that helps.

He's in the bullpen. You can't not use him if you're down to your last reliever, which they literally were.

As for Milner, there's a bigger picture here. They need to keep him healthy and effective for the postseason. More than one game. CC realizes this, and it's why we're 6.5 games up.

Right, that’s why I said predominantly.

Of his 13 appearances with the Brewers, three have been high leverage (0913, 0910, 0808), two have been medium leverage (0902, 0805). The remaining eight were low leverage appearances.

No they were not down to their last reliever.  Milner came in and pitched after the Chafin meltdown.

I understand the bigger picture thing, you don't need to continue talking down to me.  I realize what the plan was for Milner's usage that game, however, plans need to change when the situation is warranted.  Using Chafin in that situation was a mistake.  Everyone knew it, every poster in the game thread knew it, but it happened anyway.

Hope that helps.

Yeah for some reason Craig is using Chafin instead of seeing what they have in Veira. And it shouldn’t be the left handed thing because of course Chafin has reverse splits.

Santana is REALLY good at pickin hops at first base.

Some of the value of picking him up at the trade deadline is definitely the defense that Santana brings. Both the offense and defense at 1st Base had been an issue this season.

I'm not talking down to you. And it's funny you say that when you started by responding, "Refresh my memory..." Could certainly be construed as talking down...

He came into the game anyways because the Brewers couldn't score and they had no alternative but to use their emergency option. Chafin was ahead of Milner in the pecking order for that day, with Milner only to be used as a last case scenario (meaning no other relievers left) due to his usage. It was a reasonable decision given the bigger picture that simply didn't work out.

Read your own comments in that game thread.  Even you, a company man, thought is was a stupid decision.

No need to continue this discussion, I'm out.

Hope that helps.

Woah. Who's talking down now?? Ridiculous and childish.

And you can change your mind from the heat of the moment. I did after CC explained post-game Milner's recent usage and the fact that Chafin had been pitching better coming into that game. That's the last I'll say about it.
