That seems cheap for a good bat. I guess nobody really buys that Murphy’s defense can be improved.

This may mean the Giants will move on from former ranked prospect RHH Joey Bart (no options remaining). Or maybe LHH Blake Sabol (3 options) is available.

Praying this is sarcasm. Brewers need a backup catcher. I want Brewers to sign 1 of my 3 desired targets. Tom Murphy was one of them. Obviously I don’t want them to sign 3 catchers.

Garver and Sanchez. Those 2 and Murphy are the 3 best bats at catcher in FA. I want to target a bat first C who can also get some games at DH.

First we had to wait for Ohtani to sign for things to get rolling and now we're waiting on Yamamoto.  Gotta love the MLB offseason.

I forgot they had Sabol. He seems like a perfect backup catcher. He can play OF (maybe a touch of 1B) as well, he is a nice left handed backup and has options.

I really like Willy to the Giants, I was thinking Bart as a 2nd or 3rd throw-in piece. 

Adames for 3B Casey Schmidt, Sabol, and P Will Bednar

Schmidt was rushed to the bigs and miscast at SS/2B but is a good 3B. Bednar has struggled to stay healthy but would be more than a throw-in.

Agreed, MLB needs to do something about this..... Need to have a deadline or something for FA deals.

This is absolute ********* how boring MLB offseason can be year after year after year.

Why? Spring Training doesn't start for another 53ish days. If they add a deadline and force all of the signings then the fans would still be sitting around with nothing to talk about for months. This longer period gives time for GMs to talk to agents and other teams. It also gives some injured players time to rehab a bit more before a team needs to commit. I think a deadline would create a dull period where no signings or trades happen.

Saw on MLBTR that Jesus Aguilar signed with the Seibu Lions of NPB.

Kind of interesting that all sorts of non-40 Man calibre guys have been signing minor league deals and foreign contracts so far, but nary a peep about our old friend Keston Hiura.

Considering all the consternation around his alleged mis-treatment by the Brewers the last couple summers I thought some enterprising MLB club would have snatched him up to be their full time DH vs RHP by now.

I agree on a deadline for the foreign players. Yamamota+ should have been done deadline say 1 week before Christmas. You're paying a posting fee. It's null if the deadline passes and they can deal with that player another year. This allows action the business days leading up to Xmas.  And then the business days following New Years.  Now you've made a period during offseason where to expect moves.
