Contreas needs to be locked up now. Brewers do not wait. Get it done.

He’s not a FA until 2028 when he’s 30.  No need to throw money at him now.  A lot can happen to a catcher in 4 years and they’re usually pretty beat up by 30 years old.

As incredible as Frelick's defense was last year, it's been very disappointing so far.  I guess we can chalk the first couple weeks up to the spring training juggle, but feels like a lame excuse.

I get that. He may not be the catcher he is now at 30 but his bat will play for a long time. Great personality. I love the guy but I understand where you are coming from.

Agreed. Moving all over hasn't helped.

Will be interesting what they do with Hall, sure doesn't appear to be a good starting option right now. If they insist on that might be best to start in Nashville instead.

I really hope Hall turns things around and avoids the “We really traded our ace for this guy?” category.

As I mentioned earlier - I would be less concerned if he was 23

Ortiz looking pretty good has definitely helped

Brewers Traded him because of the money Burns would have wanted.

“Trading ace for budgetary relief” doesn’t sound that much better. Here’s to hoping that Ortiz keeps up his performance!

Let’s give Hall some time…..we all remember what Burnes was like in his first year starting………and yes I do acknowledge that Burnes velocity was always there……unlike what we are seeing now with Hall.

Hall is throwing his 4 seamer 3 mph slower than last year. Slider 4mph.
