You have to find a way to stop that inning from spiraling that far out of control.

While I think the offense is improved this is going to be a tall order to overcome in five innings.

Absolutely the truth. You can't lose 80% of your starting rotation and All Star closer for half a season and not miss a beat.

Too early to draw a conclusion on either point.

Murphy is not doing a great job imo with being on top of pitching changes. Where Counsell had a quick hook Murphy seems reluctant to pull guys clearly not having it. Going to be an issue with first time manager I'm afraid.

We're doing just fine without Coun$ell.

What is the record for most GIDP for one player?  Hoskins might get there.

Not sure but he has a long way to go to pass the league leading 23 from Contreras last year

Musgrove being still in this game is how a veteran pitcher goes about his business and hangs in there. Gave them 6. Brewers need someone to do that soon.

Peralta (30 GS), Miley (23 GS) and Rea (22 GS) are all still on the team, so they only lost about 54% of their rotation.

I’m not sure what this is getting at with the comparison to Yount.

Yount did not have 3 HR in his first 13 games in MLB.

I think the key is “at that age.” Yount must have done that at 20

Yet another short start, only this time we find a way to get through 3 innings w/only 31 pitches, and STILL not get our starter through five. Frustrating. If there's such a thing as starting rotation gods I'd love to know what we did to tick them off. Obviously Ross deserved better.

He didn’t.

In 1976, Yount’s age 20 season, he only hit 2 HR all season.

With 5 in 14 games Hoskins is on pace to shatter Contreras’ mark.

That opt out might loom large this winter. What do you do with a guy who can’t run and already isn’t their first choice defensively for the field.

Offensively Rhys is about where we would have expected .800 ops with 30 hr pace. I agree that the defense and double plays are concerning but coming off an lost year I will give him another week or two before thinking he needs to be a full time DH.

Well, I'm out of guesses. Just a bad tweet.
