Scoring runs cures everything and we went cold in Pittsburgh.  Since the Brewers scored 12 against the Cards we are averaging below 2 runs per game.  Not a recipe for success.

We need the bats to break out again.

Where would we expect Bryse pitch limit today 60's. At least the pen is relatively fresh with Koenig being the only guy I would say we would want to throw maybe Thyago (33 pitches monday).  4-5 Wilson, 1-2 for Hudson and Peguero, figure it out from there. I am guessing this is a bullpen day for the Pirates seeing Fleming is a reliever or are they going the opener route for someone I don't know about.

I was going to say Chourio maybe needs a day off but maybe the bullpen day is what he needs for a jumpstart.

60's would be a max.  If we can get that, it would be great.

Bryse will start the game nice!

The next arms will do us no harms and will be hurling charms!

Fleming will be to us a lemming!

On him we will stomp!

Enjoy the romp!

We have today and tomorrow vs. the Pirates to try to split the series.

It’s not just Pittsburgh.

Since their incredible hot streak of scoring 59 runs in 6 games (with at least 7 in each game), the Brewers have scored just 30 runs in the last 9 games, and 12 of those were in that one game. In the other 8 games they scored 4, 3, 3, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1.

Fortunately, they won 3 of those 8 games. I think these last 9 games are a lot closer to what we can expect from the offense going  forward than what they did in that 6 game hot streak.

I think the Brewers will pull one out tonight. Vegas has the game at a "pickem".  So they need to win this one for sure. The bats just need to come alive again.

No must wins this early, but yeah, it would be nice to snap out of this incredible cold streak.

Seems like we're back to deciding to play poorly in Pitt. Aside from the offense, one could make the case we gave them half their runs this series, which has been uncharacteristic. Silver lining is we we've had two decent to good starts, which bodes well for what most think is the Achilles heel of this team.

Plus they're starting a LHP (although no one knows how long he'll be out there). I'd prefer starting him & maybe sit him tomorrow if today is another clunker.

Chourio has looked to go the other way pretty much all season & it seems so ingrained that he's lunging at everything out over the plate---or a foot wide of the plate. He was talking about adjustments the other day, both pitchers amending what they're doing & him 'adjusting to the adjustment'. Unless he's Albert Pujols coming straight from the Midwest League to the majors the struggles were inevitable.

I didn't say it was a must win but I think the odds are in the Brewers favor today. We really only have about 4 of 5 players now playing decent.

Wilson has been OK, so how we matchup with whoever follows Fleming could be key. Quick turnaround tomorrow too, & our pen is maybe a little more rested than theirs. So an opportunity.

Catcher is great

Hoskins is fine at 1B/DH

Turang has been amazing

Adames performing well

Oliver Dunn experience is fading. Ortiz fine offensively

Yelich was MVP caliber

Frelick gets on base, not much else

Chourio has .656 OPS

Not seeing any rhymes here.

Yelich left his game 10games ago. Yeli/Contreras were dynamic together. Plus Turang/Chourio turnover the order.

Do not understand Sanchez, who supplied our only run last night, not being in the lineup and Owen Miller playing 1B and hitting 3rd, but okay.
